I see the Pepe starting so far, defensive soliifying early off in the foundation building, but why is Giaccherini playing? He doesnt provide that, except if passing back to the defenders is defensive work?

It can only be because Krasic is not 100% fit/on form and Elia is new. The cream will rise to the top, as they say. Whoever that may be.

He was giving so much freedom, don't forget that guys. That's a reason for his good perfomances.He's virtually playing as an AM. That won't happen if he play in a 2 man MF with Pirlo?

Had a few good moments but he looked rather sluggish, I expected him to be more active. I wonder how he'd do next to Pirlo, because he'd have a lot less freedom going forward and a lot more responsibility in midfield.

I'm really liking how we do switch to a 433 though, and not just for the last 5 minutes. With three midfielders we can easily play more attacking wingers. I'd love to see Elia and Krasic on the pitch with Matri/Vuci as striker.

Vidal would have no problems as a defensive midfielder. Thats the role he was playing with Leverkusen last year and thats where he actually excels.

not making assists, but destroying the opponent, and linking up with the attack
