I said it before, #10 shouldn't be given to a forward. Too much unnecessary pressure.

I kinda wanted us to sign Verratti and give him #10. But hey, if Vidal wants, Vidal gets.

we've already broken the "tradition" by giving weird number to players like Bonucci. I don't see the big deal.
That's no comparison, defender having number 19 is not strange. They tend to have 2-6 as numbers, but if they don't high 10s or 20s is not unusual.

And anyways, it's nowhere near the iconic tradition of 10 and the player type that has it. Notice I say type and not quality, Diamanti or Gio are 10s, without being stars.

Bloom what? There is nothing new with squad/fringe players getting high 10s as numbers, how is that breaking tradition? 17 isnt a traditional fixed number anyways (fairly neutral number). Unless you think it only takes one player to create a tradition (even if Le Roi is awesome). And no one wanted 11 after Pavel, except De Ceglie who is a winger in heart, and obviously wants that number for that (fits more then Amauri anyways).

Dont get why its hard to see the difference in importance of iconic traditional number like 10, and squad players or defenders having 19 or 17.

Dont have to be an all time legend like them to get the number. Just a typical 10 type of player like them (or someone lower in the field, aka a playmaker).
