Emilia Law’ means Arturo #Vidal could face "minimum of 541 days in prison” for DUI crash

O_O
Emilia's Law does not apply in this case because there was no hit and run and there were no severe injuries

"Transport safety website Conaset.cl gives information on 'The Emilia Law' related to drinking driving in Chile, which should see Vidal receive a minimum of 541 days in prison as a result of his crime," reported Sport. "The law is a result of the country attempting to tackle the issue of driving while intoxicated with strict measures and punishments.

Whenever I've been to Florida I've always been amazed how prevalent drink driving is, i.e. walking out of a club stumbling around and driving off, next to no cops around to pounce on people. Over here it is very frowned upon, I've even seen people get into fights over it.

I'm sure there are enough people who risk it after 2-4 pints down the pub, I know one guy who did it a few weeks back.
The anti drink driving thing here is huge, and so it should be. But still quite often you sick dickheads on the news way over the limit crashing their car/killing people/getting 'lucky' and not hurting anyone

He is not gonna face jail, he is gonna pay a big ass fine and his driver license will be held for a year

Problem comes when it terms of the NT, because although team captains & coach alligned themselves to protect Arturo, the ANFP (Chilean Football Association) can suspend him regardless of team/coach's opinion.
