Remember the injury crisis we had under Del Neri, Ferarra, etc? Before Conte started with had horrible luck with injuries. Depth comes in handy, you never know.
It's still too excessive.

You can't prepare every team for a massive injury crisis and go 8 man deep on every position. There was no point to the 17m Pereyra signing, especially since we even got Romulo right after who can also cover in midfield

Pogba---Marchi---Asa
Pereyra
Llorente/Morata----Tevez

or
Pogba---Marchi---Asa

Morata---Llorente---Tevez/Coman

those 2 sound legit to me.

8 man deep for "every" position?

Vidal
Marchisio
Pirlo
Pogba
Asamoah (LB cover anyways)
Marrone (CB cover anyways)
Romulo
Pereyra (attacking player, correct)

Who am I missing? 2 of those CM's are former CM's that have adapted to another position now and will continue to cover for those said positions. And when you consider we have the best midfield in Italy easily and top 5 in Europe, it makes absolute sense to continue reinforcing the mid with better bench players to ensure when we rotate/injuries/suspensions we aren't compromised as badly.

i like how suns is making it sound like guys like asamoah and and romulo are first choice or even back up mids, when they are wing backs/fullbacks

also you why are you counting padion or marrone? using a player we dont use to make your numbers seem higher to prove a point

Lets wait and see.

Guys remember last season when we were pulling the hairs of our heads seeing how Conte was using Porga Pirlo Vidal in every fucking game.

We needed this depth.

I included Marrone in the list since he used to be a CM but since his conversion to CB I'd use Marrone in the list for the CB's. Padoin players everywhere. Literally he is the ideal utility player.

And we all cried a river when Padoin was always the first sub.

So you think its reasonable to have that many players in midfield?

I'm sorry, do you want your 7th choice in midfield to be a full time CM? What is the point of this whole versatility thing the team always talks about then? In an injury crisis, Asamoah, Romulo are versatile players and will be played wherever the team needs them.

Also, why should I not count Padoin? Didn't we sign him? Isn't he still on the team?

If you have a massive injury crisis then you have to be creative, just like every other team out there instead of spending the limited amount of money that you have on 6th and 7th choices.

Asamoah
Pereyra
Romulo

Asamoah is the LB cover now before ever being a CM cover. That should be pretty clear by now. Pereyra opens us up for more tactical options and is more attack minded. Padoin can play in more positions than any player in this team.

Makes sense to me.

Especially when our formations both use 3 CM's.

Asamoah is barely a wingback, and especially not LB. The guy even said himself that he doesn't like playing as a LB in a back 4 and wants to avoid it. He's a midfielder, a quality one at it as well. Much better than Pereyra.

Regardless of what we think he is, the last coach used him that way and it looks like the current one will as well. SO what difference does it make what he was at Udinese when he isn't that here?

Wait to pass judgement on Pereyra.

And he never said he didn't "like" playing LB, he said he preferred the CM role but is willing to do what he needs to do to play and do whats asked by the coach.

What do you think is more important for Asa: To play a CM and rarely play or play/learn a new position and be a guaranteed starter?

No brainer.

Just laugh. You" know" best what will happen.Surgery ,absence from the field or whatever .You are best informed.Maybe a little sparrow told you that he will play against Udinese?:sergio:
 Oh yeah? And what has that little sparrow told you, Mr. Dukac :)lol:) since you're obiouvsly more informed than me? We're just making suggestions here, and mine are more realistic than yours. Now do a nice thing, get off my dick and fuck off, since your posts are even more than ridiculous.

Asamoah is 5th choice in terms of quality on midfield. If we have injury crisis in midfield, Asamoah helps out there. I'm thinking Evra will probably become the first choice sooner or later as wingback.

Why so interested in cementing every players position? What is the point of signing versatile players if you're not willing to count on them in more than one position?

And we have no idea what Allegri wants to do. If he wants to play 3-5-2 or gradually change to his brand of football of a back 4.

With Ghana, Asamoah complained about being a LB in back 4.
