Well if he can pass then he is already better than sissoko. He isn't italian so that makes him better than pazienza. As long as he doesn't face kick opponents that makes him better than melo.

With Pirlo sitting deep and M'Vila alongside him (who sits even deeper and is very limited technically to go further on the pitch) it would practically cut the team in two blocks. If instead of Vidal you put a trequartista like Pastore (sort of 4-2-3-1) it could work, yes.
