could someone explain the difference between rock, nu-metal, heavy metal, punk rock...etc

I mean its all a load of sh*t but I wouldn't mind knowing!

it's quite easy if you would only try listening to it, at least some of the genres.

nu-metal is where you have most of the rap-metal thingies(linkin park, stuff like that), i don't really like that.

punk rock is also easy to tell, but i don't quite know how to explain that. ehmmm.... i'll try some other time

the difference between rock and heavy-metal is that heavy-metal is harder, more raw, but it can be hard to tell these two genres apart.


the music thats really hardt to tell apart is that trance/techno crap. I mean its all a load of sh*t but I wouldn't mind knowing!
