Goalkeepers: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Boca Juniors), Leonardo Franco (Atletico Madrid/SPA), Oscar Ustari (Independiente).

Defenders: Fabricio Coloccini (Dep. Coruna/SPA), Roberto Ayala (Valencia/SPA), Gabriel Heinze (Man. Uts/ENG), Juan Pablo Sorin (Villarreal/SPA), Lionel Scaloni (West Ham/ENG), Gabriel Milito (Real Zaragoza/SPA), Nicolas Burdisso (Inter/ITA), Leandro Cufre (Roma/ITA).

Midfielders: Esteban Cambiasso (Inter/ITA), Javier Mascherano (Corinthians/BRA), Luis Gonzalez (Porto/POR), Pablo Aimar (Valencia/SPA), Juan Roman Riquelme (Villarreal/SPA), Maximiliano Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid/SPA).

Forwards: Carlos Tevez (Corinthians/BRA), Hernan Crespo (Chelsea/ENG), Lionel Messi (Barcelona/SPA), Rodrigo Palacio (Boca Juniors), Javier Saviola (Sevilla/SPA), Julio Cruz (Inter.)

Mayor Shock!! no Javier Zanetti

Also, they are taking 6 forwards, 7 if you take in consideration that Aimar can also play as a forward...

I can tell you something, in Argentina they are not happy about Zanetti's exclution.

World Cup Snub For Zanetti
Javier Zanetti has confirmed that he will not be going to this summer's World Cup finals.

The Internazionale star was hoping to be included in Argentina's 23-man party - but coach Jose Pekerman has confirmed to him that he will not be travelling to Germany.

"Pekerman phoned me and told me that I will not be travelling to the World Cup, but I knew it already most of all from the press," said Zanetti.

"This was said more than a week ago that I wasn't going to be included in the list. This hurts me but it's one of the things that happen in football.

"Nobody has told me anything about what I did wrong for not being in the next World Cup.

"I am calm because I know that I did my best, I have always been ready for the national team each time that I was called.

"The only one that knows why I will not play the World Cup is the coach.

"I am going to be from now on more than ever the fan number one of Argentina."

pity that he wasn't included as he is probably the only inter player i really do admir apart from adriano & martins.
im glad to see that palacio gets a chance to showcase his talent as well as mascherano.

    Demichelis in shock

Martin Demichelis was distraught after learning he was axed from Argentina's World Cup squad.

The Bayern Munich star was widely expected to make the squad, but in a shock turn of events, coach Jose Pekerman decided to leave Demichelis and Javier Zanetti out of his final 23-man party.

Demichelis was just about inconsolable after learning his fate and even admitted that he did not feel like living anymore.

"The coach gave me a phone call before announcing the list in Argentina," he told Estudio Futbol.

"I am out and with his decision, I feel that I don't want to play nor live anymore.

"Since I found out, I don't have the will to dedicate myself to football.

"Now I don't want to do anything else, I even don't want to travel anywhere.

    Geezzz... talk about been overreacting

Comparing Zanettis comments to Demichelis shows quite a lot of character comparison between both players. I know his an inter rival but thats some good respect for the guy. Pekermans made a mistake, I remeber Last world cup it was only zanetti and someone else who actually showed some form of determination in their games.

man the world is not over, Demichilis still has the next WC to hope for.
As for Zanetti, he doesn't complain despite being dropped from the squad for dunno what reason, probably the only Inter player I respect.
