:yuck: there's your first problem. Get/Learn a decent prog like Photoshop, or if you can't "afford" that, you can download something like Gimp

:wth: you use Flash for html ??

what kind of question was that?... but i answer it anyway... flash is not an html program like dreamwever and so on... its approach is more to dynamic contents on the web.. like interactivity... the users will have more power to maintain a high degree of creative control... for example: www.808inc.com

futhermore, flash can interact with a lot of other languages as well, html and java are common associations...

but of course, it requires a longer time to learn... but it's worth it... :D

and probably, the most powerful feature in flash is its own scripting language... called actionscript... now that macromedia has released flash mx pro 2004, the actionscript is also upgraded to version 2.0...

the community is worldwide here .. www.actionscript.org... and all the source code and sample are there for users to download... and you can find me there too.. :D

microsoft pain. :wallbang:

I mean, paint.
When was your last psychological evaluation? Are you insane? Let me give you a piece of advice that goes a long way.. steer away from everything with the label "Microsoft", there is far more to gain from that policy than lose.

Paint is advanced in photo editing as Notepad is in word processing. Enough already.

photoshop can be quite a pain in the ass if you are new...
but there are always online tutorials in the internet... and there are a lot of beginner levels too...

if you spend a lot of time in photoshop a day, and if you are not a 'turdface', you can do ok...

Yes, which is why I asked with the :wth: face when you said that you use Flash, since we're talking about html here :)

and btw I've learned Flash at University for nigh on 2 years now; thanks for the rundown anyway ;)

If you're planning to learn the skills to make a decent website, learning a graphics program should come in at a close second to html/css coding. No pain, no gain ;)

The problem with web design (and construction) is that you have to do two things well:
    - graphics/layout
    - technical design (html vs php vs xml, templates, css etc)

And most people lean toward one side while they neglect the other. My biggest weakness was always the first point. On the other hand, good graphical designers make great designs but build crap websites that are badly coded, not to standard (buggy on other browsers) and perform poorly.

I can't stand jsp.. python is where it's at :D
i'm not a lucky guy who can choose the programming language. It's more like "hey, our client wants it programmed in JSP. so moved your ass and stop reading those perl books". but well I kinda like JSP more now. It's easier to program than CGI+perl.(IMO).
