I thought he was knocked unconscious when he was struck ?

If so, thats called a concussion

Hopefully, he wasnt knocked out, didnt suffer a concussion, and will be able to play this weekend
Reports say that he was "left unconscious on the ground. - That suggests a hit and run.

Firstly, thank goodness he's Ok, secondly, we're cursed this season...
:shifty: anyone know a good shaman? ;)

Here goes for a rough (very rough)version of what Juventus.it says about Antonio: -

After the accident on Monday evening to Turin, Antonio Nocerino has also, reluctantly went to the medical centre. After being discharged in the night from the hospital, in day the player has been subjected to a "neurochirurgica" (neurological?) test that has confirmed the complete absence of lesions. In the day of Wednesday, he will undergo a magnetic resonance test also. If the outcome is negative, he will be able to resume training between Thursday and Friday and may eventually be available for the game on Sunday against the Rome: he will be monitored daily.

Nocerino's 'miracle' recovery Wednesday 19 September, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus midfield starlet Antonio Nocerino has spoken publicly for the first time since being run over late on Monday evening.

The ex-Piacenza star was hit by a car after attending a friend’s party in the ‘Mamma Mia’ restaurant in Turin.

Initial reports suggested that Nocerino had been knocked unconscious, but that has now been discounted.

After treatment at the city’s Umberto I hospital, a concussion and some bruises were the extent of the 22-year-old’s injuries.

“The fear has passed, but I was so scared,” Nocerino told the Juventus Channel. “Luckily I didn’t lose consiousness and now I am fine.

“I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone, but I feel like I’ve been saved by a miracle.”

Nocerino will surely miss out on Juve’s all-important battle against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this weekend, but should return to training within a week.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Too bad he'll miss this match but luckily, that is all he'll miss, stuff like that can end much worse, and normally, they also end much worse.

Nocerino Makes Full Recovery After Car Accident

Antonio Nocerino has reflected on his "miracle" recovery after escaping his being knocked down by a car in Turin with mere bruising and concussion...

Antonio Nocerino has been discharged from hospital following his being hit by a car on Monday evening.

The player had recently left 'Mamma Mia' restaurant in the city centre following a dinner party, only to be hit by a passing vehicle and knocked to the ground.

He was taken to hospital, where he was subsequently treated for concussion and bruising. Contrary to early reports, it seems that at no time did he lose consciousness.

The young midfielder has made a full recovery, but cannot help but look back on the incident with shock.

He told the Juventus Channel, "I'm no longer afraid, but at the time my fear was so great. I didn't lose consciousness and now I'm fine, thankfully."

"I wouldn't wish this to happen to anyone. I feel like a miracle of some kind has saved me," he concluded.

The player is set to be rested for the crunch clash with league leaders Roma at the weekend.

Nocerino: “The fear has gone.” Serie A Tim - 19 Sep 2007 - 10:32 AM

A nasty experience to be forgotten as soon as possible. Antonio Nocerino was already back in Vinovo less than 24 hours after Sunday night's ugly accident, when he was run over by a car in front of a well-known restaurant in Turin and was taken to the hospital.

Luckily everything's in the past now. The young Naples-born midfielder was thoroughly examined and no wounds to the head were found; today he'll undergo a magnetic resonance test too.

He'll gradually return to normal, which will entail training together with his team mates in the hope of being already available for next Sunday's tough away game at Roma.

Nocerino spoke briefly with Juventus Channel in an interview shown last night to reassure everybody about his condition. “The fear has gone now, even though I was really scared at first. Luckily I didn't lose consciousness and I'm ok now. I don't wish this experience on anyone, I feel truly blessed”.
:weee: He may be ok for the Roma match after all!
