Juventus revamped the squad that summer, while milanese clubs had an aging and expensive squads they failed to rebuild. Very much resembling JJ of the past few seasons. Coaching a club with a biggest budget in Italy has its advantages as well. At Inter the structure was already in place with Marotta, while this time JJ was failling to rebuild. Our biggest problem is the management and the moves they make. Every year they somehow make it worse. Conte could just be that oportunistic guy that sees the opporrtunity and goes for it.

Its a good watch. Conte makes do with limited resources and gets the most out of his players. Repurposes players by changing their positions to make it work and he is doing it again at Napoli. This is not a manager who requires a big budget and top quality in every position to win far from it. If anything, its when he starts demanding what he regards as top players to be bought is when his teams implode

to be fair, look at how the club treated legends like del piero, pirlo, bonucci, and dybala. just shit treatement from the club for the legends.

so i don't blame conte for being asshole to a greedy company.

yeah, conte is so unselfish that he ran away like a coward because of del piero and he already saw what would happen with future "legends" like bonucci and dybala. is he cronios' unlawful twin or something?

btw he's not being an asshole to jj. he came to the legends match to celebrate the club's anniversary, and he tried to take allegri's job too.

Is there another one of him?

I basically want somebody exactly like him but not an arsehole. Tudor? Lichtsteiner? Marchisio? One of these motherfuckers obsessed with working and winning must surely end up being the guy who brings us back yet again.

marchisio is a nice guy, i don't see him as a coach. licht isn't there yet either

tudor was my first choice to replace macs, i'd give him a chance

as much as i despise conte he's the ultimate italian coach. if i put feelings aside, he's the only logical hire for next jj coach, no contest. yeah, he's an ass. yeah, he's whiny. but look at that napoli squad and tell me who else would lead the table with them by the end of january. inda have a much deeper and stronger squad, they'll win the league, still, if you want to get the maximum out of your players during a league season, conte is the man. and again, i don't even like the prick. and he'd be investigated by figc within 3 months for something he did/said 10+ years ago. and we wouldn't be good in cup competitions. but he'd probably fight for the scudetto with the squad we currently have, and beggars can't be choosers

I said last season that a manager like Conte is what this team needs. It badly needs structure, passion and players getting a kick occasionally. I wasn't specifically meaning Conte to come in but I struggle to think of another manager like him that we could get.

At this point I would be more than happy to bring him back. Yes he burnt some bridges with how he acted at Inter and his European record is underwhelming but sometimes you need to suck up your pride and do what is the best for the team, and winning the CL becomes less of an issue when you can't qualify for it. He might only last a season or two but he has shown that he can build foundations, which is what we need.

There isn't, because Conte's assholeness is a strength and players are moved by that, they respect his authority. He is fortunate to play but more importantly learn under Lippi and Trappatoni and thats what is paying off. Everyone knows you don't fuck about with Trapp. Tudor might know a thing or two, but nowhere near.

Managers and mentorship shouldn't be underestimated.

Carlo Ancelotti had Sacchi, Niels Leidholm
Guardiola had Bielsa Cruyyf
Mourinho had van gaal and Cruyyf

What made these guys good/ great was they were open minded to many footballing philosophy's, curious and taking good learnings from multiple people

For example Ancelotti cites how he took non tactical learning from Nils Leidholm I.e how to deal with people.

At a minimum we would be competitive in the scudetto race for the first time in years
He is hands down the best coach at winning domestic league.
At Juve he won 3 trophy's in 3 years, the reason he left Juve is because he didn't win the CL, name a Juve manager who has?(after 96) It's an impossible task at the moment.
