Football is becoming more and more about machines and physical players, Conte was basically the first to cotton on to this in Italy, it's part of our success. But whereas before he could look abroad to more quality to go with this steel he is now left with a choice of skillful and physically weak (Pirlo, Verratti, Insigne) or strong and machine-like. Conte is most likely to use the 'safer' option.

All/most the world class players now tend to be more less machines but effective machines above all. Italy has none of that and the fitness levels of allegedly hard working players is almost non-existent.

well, if the majority of the Italian teams(lead by Conte) use 3-5-2 then you end up not developing world class players but more of the machine type of players.

In Holland or Spain for example, youngsters start using the 4-3-3 as soon as they are able to play 11 vs 11. It develops individuals.

I'm just glad we dont have this stubborn stupid guy coaching us any more, he failed to adapt at Juve it's as simple as that. He is one of the best at getting the best out of players and very good at organising a team but in terms of adopting a new approach when the current system is not working he is one of the most stubborn i have seen.

He is happy to see his team create nothing and watch his defenders play as attacking midfielders, it's just shocking that he thinks this system is going to take a team forward.
fixed that for ya ;)

3-5-2 is responsible for all that's evil.

I woke up to piss and watched the 2'nd half of that game. Croatia were rarely threatened, and looked so comfortable on the ball. They had something like 65% possession :howler:

At times, it felt as if Croatia were actually playing at home. An incredibly uninspiring and listless performance from Italy. Mediocre players +stubborn mule for a coach = utter failure.

I can't wait to see his excuses when Italy are cruelly exposed come Euro 2016. In fact, I am willing to bet that Croatia are going to destroy them in the return fixture.

Thats his main problem, he is way, WAYY too stubborn to change his ways. For him adapting = failure it seems. Is like if adapting is accepting something wrong with his 352.

Supposedly he will try a new formation today with Italy. I think that finally he is understanding that his fmaous 352 has some flaws. IM pretty sure that Juve´s latest showings could have ignited a fire within him, and made him realize not everything is about fuking 352 with clumsy wingers.

Conte blasts clubs and media

Antonio Conte had a fiery Press conference after Italy’s 1-0 win over Albania, slamming clubs and media obsession with Mario Balotelli.

“You know full well that I don’t hold back when I have something to say. After six games in which we won five and drew one, some people bury their heads in the sand and don’t want to see what is obvious.

“There is work to be done in a very, very difficult moment for Italian football – more difficult than I expected, as I honestly thought there would be more participation from everyone.”

Conte complained that he wanted another get-together before the next games in February and March, but clubs could not find the room in the calendar.

“I saw little desire to collaborate with the Nazionale. I always experienced this as a club Coach and admittedly there you think about your club and little else. Now I am on the other side, forced to have these lads for at most eight or nine days a month. Now I’d have the chance to see them again in four months.

“I am asked to do great work and transform the Italy team. So give me the chance. Put me in the conditions to achieve that.

“We have to work to qualify for the Euros and then in that month create a solid side. In a day and a half we prepared against a fine Albania team that had beaten Portugal and drawn with France.
“I am not angry with anyone in particular. I just feel after three months in the job, our third Nazionale get-together, I am starting to get a clear idea of the situation.

“Everyone says we need to do this, that and the other for Italian football, then I turn round and I am alone!

“When are we going to show some love for the Nazionale? Instead everyone goes 'oh he can’t play, he has to do this, he has to do that.’

“People ask the players to create a team with determination, organisation, unity, etc all in eight or nine days. And people actually sneer at those eight or nine days.”

Conte was asked about Balotelli and lost his temper with the reporters in the press room.

“We are still talking about Balotelli. With all the problems we have in Italian football, we are still talking about whether Balotelli goes to a disco or not. I find it ridiculous and absurd.

“And with all of this, the team has five wins and a draw. Beat us, let’s see you beat us.”

Yeah. Conte didn't say anything disgusting THIS TIME.

Whats disgusting about it? He talks in a direct and in your face fashion, looks out after his teams interests and has this we against the world attitude, nothing new. I fully agree with what he said.
Fake fan!

Seriously though, he shouldn't be given more time than any other NT coach.

The part I didn't like is regarding wanting more time with the group and the way in which he answers the questions. He makes it sound like he is being handed his team and that the players are a bunch of shit.

He wants more time to work with them, not that they are shit, sounds like you are reading into what you want to just to hate. His attitude or way he says is hardly diplomatic and quite demanding, but he is right on wanting to demand more time to make a better team, if its possible, why not.
