He is right in part, but also wrong in another.
His successful QF run in his first year in Europe should have been lauded and seen as an accomplishment for Juve, especially topping the group with that demolition of Chelsea and the away win at Shakhtar... It was a very impressive debut campaign. It should have been celebrated and lauded.
However, the man seriously needed to eat some humble pie with regards to his second European campaign. For him to constantly make excuses for our Group stage exit, and for our mediocre performance against Benfica, and not allow for the suggestion that it was a failure of a campaign, well, it's more than a little arrogant. He needed to come out, apologize for the failure and say we were going to learn from it, and move forward from it, grow; he needed to say, that he as a coach had failed to certain degree in our targets last year, partly due to poor tactics, mentality, preparation, whatever... He can say we had some bad luck, sure, but he also needed to admit that he didn't do a great job in Europe last year, and that he was going to learn from his mistakes. Humble pie. He needed to show humility. Instead he immediately got his hackles up and made excuse after excuse for every slip-up.
That's disappointing. And I thought (and at times, still do think) the man was/is/will be an amazing manager... But he needs to show some humility. His hubris got to be a little ridiculous as last year wore on, and even now. It will be his downfall if he's not careful.
