Conte took off the least mobile striker to keep the midfield and defense solid then put on another attacker for Pirlo to try and equalise. I think calling him a coward is stupid here, Juve played a good game.
excellent move, Llorente would have offered nothing upfront going down to 10 men, at least someone like Giovinco can carry the ball from deep and be more of an aid at this stage, once again excellent move by Conte and a positive one too, most managers in his case would have put on someone like peluso or another defensive minded player

one can only blame the players and individual faults for so long... there comes a time when the manger needs to be held accuntable for their mental weakness and unaccetable performances. maybe 2 years was how long the players got motivated and belived in the team and manager. this juve looks nothing like the last two years, and the sooner this is recognised the sooner it is possible to try to fix it. i fear this is not rock buttom, and the future is indeed dark.

That's my opinion and that's what I think could have been best in our favour and that's why I think your interpretation is stupid. Two can play this game you know?

I can understand this post after the Fiorentina game, perhaps, but after tonight I've no idea why you have posted it.

We played a whole second half with 10 men away to fricking Real Madrid because the guy who is supposed to mediate the game made a wrong call.

taking off a midfielder at any point during the game would have been absolute murder.

Its essentially what kept us in the game, and on top of real till the card, and even moments after it.

taking off marchisio would allow their cm's to move up much higher, just ticking it around.
taking off pirlo would essentially force vidal and pogba closer to the center, and give them free reign over the flanks.

No, removing the least mobile player, was the right decision. then replacing pirlo for the strongest midfielder(physically) we got.

And still not playing 10 behind the ball !

THEN, replacing a cb and putting giovinco on, essentially going what, 3-4-1-1 ?

How dare you call this cowardly ? How dare you even defend this notion ?

You lost it Jack. Stop posting this crap untill you get a hold of yourself again.

This game should been seen as a positive. Conte changed things up and we played our best football this season and probably even better than last but with the help of the ref and our non clinical strikers we managed to make it 100x more difficult for us. All in all I praise Conte and hope he continues to experiment with this formation

Should we hold him accountable for the decisions of an amateur referee who should be officiating non-league matches too?
no, but the pk was right, and totally unnecesary. that was when we lost this game. i am talking about this whole season, where we have mostly gotten ref on our side...the results in cl is unacceptable, the mentallity and hunger of this squad is unacceptable. there is such a thing as a manager who mentally and physically destroys players, maybe conte is amonge them. tom nordli is one i am sure you are familiar with...

caceres was rocksolid apart from the mistake on the offside trap. 4 months without a game cause injured does that to you

Chiellini beeing a dumbass, second goal

referee beeing a dumbass, red card

at the same time, team playing brilliant

where in all this is any blame to conte ?

thats bc its not about this game in particular, but the season as a whole. the game tonigh and the result was ok, but also bc madrid was happy with the way things where going. for me what stood out was the way chillini gave away a penalty at very important time, totally unneccesary. there is something very wrong with the mentallity of this team, when stupied things keeps happening game after game.

In theory Llorente would have been a good outlet, at least for 15-20 mins. In reality he doesn't finish games well, or at least so far with us, he looks out on his feet by an hour. I think the idea to first consolidate and then get Giovinco in as the outlet to stretch Real Madrid would have happened at one point or another, even if it wasn't until later.

Notice how Pogba started slotting into the CF position at times during our forays forward, or at least as a target man.
