You know, in year one, his anger to pull us out of our misery injected us with enthusiasm. In year two, his touch line ban motivated us to run ragged, as did the CL debut under him. But this year, we come in as two time defending domestic champs, couple of other trophies and it's but obvious, the spark is lost a little bit. The players are perhaps, human enough to be a bit comfortable and complacent because of the same formation that we are moving forward with. Somewhere, that cannot be entirely down to the coach, because every player on the team needs to be 100 attentive to ensure there aren't any lapses in the game, but where Conte has gotten it wrong is believing or being complacent enough to believe that the 352 would be the first system teams would've been working to figure out, because Juve play it. He has in that respect, looked woefully short of ideas, to an ameuterish degree.

I can buy the Pepe not being ready idea. And I don't know how little or how much Marrotta was supposed to get him a winger this season, but the fact of the matter is, he had an entire pre-season to figure things out. If from now to the end of season, he is unable to mix things up, then I'm afraid, he will be largely responsible for a trophyless season. Just like he deserves the plaudits for his work here in the previous two.
How come our team's the only one not motivated enough to play in CL more than once in a row then? Why is it not Conte's fault? Because when I look at other teams that are on top of their leagues and supposed to be some of the best in Europe, there is no lack of motivation.

I think his worry is not having a proper winger that can defend. He is worried about playing 3 strikers. That said, he could totally play Padoin there even Marchisio.
If we can't defend with 5 defenders then I don't know what a defensive winger up too in a 4-3-3 will do for us.

Mr Conte change it then to 4-3-1-2 , why to have an extra third defender against teams like copenhagen and gala and not putting 3 offensive players straight to the opponent box, they can add more pressure to the opponent, what are you afraid, you don't believe in your players? with 3-5-2 against these teams seems that you overestimate them. with such cafe-bars teams you must play and not be afraid.Use the 3-5-2 against better teams and heat on the break as our wingbacks don't suit also on this system like you said we don't have players for a 4-3-3

Theres no anger in this team anymore. And that's why we've lost our intensity. Everyone's too comfortable. The only way to counter that is mix things up so everyone's more attentive, learning new roles and responsibilities, perhaps as part of a new formation too. Conte definitely takes a lot of the blame, but it would be wrong not to blame the player's for not being driven enough just because they've seen some domestic successes.

So let me get this straight. Conte's tactical switch mid-game WORKED but then our defenders screwed up because they were too busy celebrating and you guys are flaming Conte for the draw?

The tactical switch to 4-3-3 worked because the turks parked the bus. We needed to be more dangerous in attack and the 4-3-3 provides exactly that.

3-5-2 is our best formation and when Conte saw that we needed more people upfront to break the bus HE ADDED LLORENTE AND WE SCORED TWO GOALS.

If it wasnt for the defense falling asleep we'd all be hailing the tactical genius of Conte for turning a match around like that with a gutsy tactical move.

True. Annoying that Conte didnt get the tactics right from the start, though, but it's true that he did change things up for the better and that we scored 2 goals because of it.

Defending let us down tonight. And it's a shame Licht got injured.

Honestly? I didn't celebrate one little bit when we scored the second goal.

But if everything is good for you, fine. Conte did well and we were unlucky.

Thats the thing.. our defense has been shakier than the last couple of seasons. And the suggested solution is to play an ultra offensive formation.
