3-5-2 isn't the problem. It's a good formation but our wing backs suck so hard it really does not suit this team right now yet he insists on playing it every game. The whole system requires very mobile attacking wing backs as the lack of width means you need a Marcello or Dani Alves type of player who gives a lot going forward. Our 4-3-3 system was completely fine for some reason he decided to fix something that really wasn't broken in 11/12. Because of that we have no width and to many defenders and strikers which means we are to predictable going through the middle the whole time and some times completely by passing midfield and just hoofing the ball passed midfield straight to attack from defence leading to nothing now because teams have figured us out.

He can try Ogbonna at LB tbh from what i know of him he is pretty handy as a LB since he is left footed. Move Vucinic back to left wing where he played in his first season under Conte. Try Caceres, Isla or Pepe as RW just to ditch this stupid formation we have right now.

Our wingbacks might aswell play on another pitch because offensively they offer nothing and defensively it doesn't really matter because they get caught too far up after putting in a shit cross or doing 4059 stepovers without actually moving and then teams break 4v4 against us and we end up with Pirlo screening our back 3 and leaving bus sized gaps.

The 3-5-2 is a problem because we dont have capable wingbacks. I hate how people say we have players more suited to a 3-5-2 then to a 4-3-3. How we dont have wingbacks and we dont have wingers. Our players are not partically suited better to any formation. They might be more familiar with a 3-5-2 but we dont play better with it. Conte needs to step his game up, he has fucked up too many times so far this season and even if we have screwed up yet in Serie A its only waiting to happen. Conte has been lucky in Serie A, but aside from that this team is playing like shit. Their are no excuses both games aganist Lazio, Conte showed that we improved the counter attacking football and hten it just disappeared afterwards. We need to stop with 3 cbs because it is obviously no better than a 4 man back line and everyone is parking the bus and countering.

I have to laugh every time Asamoah does those 852704536789 step overs and loses the ball. The guy tries and it's not his fault he is being played as a LWB when he is a CDM.

Also as Carlo Garganese said on Twitter "Nothing to add on Juve from HT. Conte 100pc to blame. Top class motivator, but you can't teach tactics - u either get it or you don't". Think he summed Conte up pretty well there.

Yep, the stubborn man spoke to the media:

Antonio Conte realises Juventus face “an uphill struggle” in the Champions League after a 2-2 draw with Galatasaray.

Leonardo Bonucci’s error gave away the opener, then Juve had fought back to lead 2-1 only for another defensive howler 60 seconds later.

“It was certainly disappointing, as we had managed to put the game back on track after an incident, which can happen. It’s a shame, as if you score at the 87th minute and then concede straight from the kick-off it is unusual.

“We have to be more attentive and clear-headed. The lads had tried so hard to get back into the match and I believe we achieved that in a deserved fashion.”

The Bianconeri also shared the spoils in Copenhagen, so have just two points to Real Madrid’s six, with the Turkish and Danish sides on one each.

“Now it’s an uphill struggle, but we must not get downhearted. We’ve got to fight with the dagger between our teeth. If we do well then we will go forward, if we don’t then it’ll mean the others were better and we tip our hats to them.”

Conte was shown the footage of the second goal and asked whether Mauricio Isla was at fault for his mistaken movement.

“I prefer to discuss tactical issues directly with the players and not on television. When we analyse the game, looking at positive and less positive things, we identify the errors.”

Juventus are becoming perhaps a little predictable and the negative approach of their opponents is having an effect.

“We can change something to surprise our opponents during the game, but these are our tactics. In the squad we only have Simone Pepe who can allow us to play 4-3-3. Based on the players at my disposal, I try to put them in the best condition to play.

“I don’t think I could use Stephan Lichtsteiner or Isla upfront in a 4-3-3. Unfortunately Pepe had this injury and we don’t have the right type of wingers in the squad.

“There are five strikers in the squad and they all play, so they all feel important. Whatever happens, people will complain about who I am leaving out, but I can’t use them all simultaneously.”

There was more bad news during the game tonight, as both Mirko Vucinic and Lichtsteiner limped off.

“Vucinic and Lichtsteiner have muscular problems, but we must wait for tomorrow to see the extent of the injuries. We hope they’re not too serious.”

Then look to buy someone if you think you don't have anyone who offers you flexibility. Don't remember us being linked to anyone who could play on the wing.

getting a goal behind with this team and players are a fucking nightmare. we are not able in any way to really put pressure on any team when we need a goal. our wide players are useless offensivly and everybody knows that, so they just let us play there. they are not gonna put in a good cross or dribble anyone anyway, let alone score a goal or make a good shoot. our opposition just crowd the middle and wait for the pirlo, bonucci, chillini or barzagli thoughball. this team is made for grinding out 1-0 results, but when the defence and goalkeeper is gifting goals left, right and center, its not fucking working.

I agree I don't blame him one bit, he's doing what he can in this makeshift Wing back roll. However, fact is that's where he's playing and offensively he's about as much of a threat to the opposition as your average ballboy.

When I complain about 3-5-2, I don't mean in general. Infact it could be great But it's heavily reliant on wing backs to attack in the final 3rd and when BOTH of your wing backs can't attack it allows teams to park the bus and not worry about our width. With somebody like Coentrao and some other attacking RWB we'd look like a different team.

And before anybody says it. Yeah those full backs are less defensively capable than our wing backs. BUT, the fact is our wing backs end up at the wrong end of the pitch when we get countered and their defensive skillset counts for fuck all when they're 60 yards the wrong side of the ball.

Conte often tries to paint it like he doesnt have any say in transfers.

Give me a break. Is he really still talking about Pepe? Who said we must play 433?

352 doesn't work anymore, that's the point. So change something.

Once again Conte does not take the blame for this draw. He is the only person to blame for our casual approaches towards the games where Juve think they can just show up to a game to win it. We dont actually play football until we go a goal behind and realise we might lose the game if we dont attack. He is the manager it's up to him to change that mentality and make sure it doesn't happen again but he keeps letting the players just stroll along waiting for something to happen instead of actually going for the win from the start.

at this point we might as well give up and play 4-5-1

storari

licht- barzagli-chillini-ogbo

pirlo
vidal- pogba- asa
marchisio
llorente (tevez)

we are already huffing the ball forward from the defenders, so might as well play our only good header in attack.

You know, in year one, his anger to pull us out of our misery injected us with enthusiasm. In year two, his touch line ban motivated us to run ragged, as did the CL debut under him. But this year, we come in as two time defending domestic champs, couple of other trophies and it's but obvious, the spark is lost a little bit. The players are perhaps, human enough to be a bit comfortable and complacent because they're used to the same formation that we are moving forward with.

Somewhere, that cannot be entirely down to the coach, because every player on the team needs to be 100 attentive to ensure there aren't any lapses in the game, but where Conte has gotten it wronbbias being complacent enough not to believe/realize that the 352 would be the first system teams would've been working to figure out, because Juve play it. He has in that respect, looked woefully short of ideas, to an ameuterish degree.

I can buy the Pepe not being ready idea. And I don't know how little or how much Marrotta was supposed to get him a winger this season, but the fact of the matter is, he had an entire pre-season to figure things out. If from now to the end of season, he is unable to mix things up, then I'm afraid, he will be largely responsible for a trophyless season. Just like he deserves the plaudits for his work here in the previous two.

Seriously it's not like all our 5 forwards are pure CF bean poles, they can surely go into a 4-3--3. Giovinco, Vucinic, Quag, Tevez all can do something there.
