I don't doubt that his approach in the locker room will be different; of course he hasn't thrown in the towel yet. But what can he achieve with these "mind games"? Will Bayern think that we've rolled over and give us an easier time because of it? To us fans it just sounds like ready made excuses in the event that we do go out. And though he will ask the players to give their all, comments like that sort of take the responsibility of these expectations away from them. I mean, it just will make it easier for them to accept defeat imo.

I think Comte plays to the gallery a little bit. When we are up he runs salts n the wounds by saying something like we are on our way to the scudetto, playing mind games with the chasing teams showing them or projecting our superiority. And when we are down, he's probably lulling Bayern into a false sense of security while trying to sound genuine. Whatever the case is, Conte doesn't seem like somebody who won't do his homework for a match like this, irrespective of the score line.

I agree with Matt, those kinds of comments just seem unnecessary. They obviously won't make Bayern play worse. And who cares what the press says? No need to tell them we're going to "rape the nazi bastards" but keep it simple. Just say the game isn't over yet or something.

Can someone please explain to RUS (in a way that he understands) that we're not the european football-superpower we used to be pre-Calciopoli, but that we're currently in the phase of rebuilding toward that level?

I personally never believe in these mind games much. And there's nothing to mind play your opposition when the first leg is lost 2-0.

Conte approached Serie A last season similarly and won it at the end. This season, in CL, our status is just like Juve in Serie A last season... A side who started as an underdog and grew gradually to become a contender.

Over-evaluating Conte's press conferences is just ridiculous.
