Okay, let's assume he did show a pussy mentality today. In this case, Lippi and Capello among other great coaches showed pussy mentality at least 5 to 6 times/season with much better players. Deal?
Those coaches defended matches with organization and game plan. I didn't notice any plan or determination whatsoever from our players tonight.

It's not about dominating, it's all about finishing off the game. Lecce could have scored any minute late in the game. I know they didn't but they still could have.
:agree: if they had half decent players on their team, they'd score from some of their chances.

The way we played today reminds me of our performance last season in the 2nd half of the season, really worrying.

Hope that Conte would slap some of our lazy players in the face to remind them that the season is not over yet.....

We could have as well though. How can you say that we WOULD have finished off the game? What if we kept pressuring them and they countered us and scored?
We are talking about Lecce right? Are we both speaking about the same team? We played the worst team in the league and let them control the game in the last 30 minutes.

It's not about Lecce. It's about today. You adapt to the situation.

Our midfield was cack today. It's not cack every match. The players looked dead from the Dubai camp.
Exactly, you adapt to the situation and today the situation was playing the worst team in the league, your job is to make it crystal clear for them that they are not getting any point from the match. After explaining that to them, you demonstrate it.

I don't know if it's Conte's or the players fault but almost nothing worked today, I was expecting Lecce to draw any minute by the end of the game, fortunately it didn't happen.

About the subs I agree with most here that we should make them earlier but looking at our woeful bench I don't really know who would I put in.

What i want to know is that: now that every coach in serie a knows that our strength is our midfield trio, and they're figuring out how to stop them and kill our whole game plan (or some days this trio might just simply not click right) shouldn't conte be trying another aproach (maybe a 4-4-2 with elia-krasic)? so that we don't end up being so predictable?

we have tried other approaches vs Napoli and Udinese, they have not worked well either.

No.

We would be much less predictable if we took the predictable Pepe out for a more unpredictable player like Elia, DP or Quag. If it ain't broke, don't fix it...tweak it.

We don't need any other formation, the 433 is fine.

it was, but its not a good setup in the long-term.
But Against parma we played a straight 4-4-2 (even without elia and krasic) and it worked, so it can be a valuable alternative. and i don't think being unbeaten but at the same time having drawn a lot, and seeing on numerous occasions (specially the last few games), under-par performances from our mid trio, is indicative of how effective it is.

Now i'm not saying it's shit but maybe conte needs another aproach every now and then.

I think it has a lot to do with Pirlo's personal performance, when he is poor then the other 2 also tend to struggle.
