Are you saying that if we played Elia and Krasic we would have definitely won the game?
of course, because the simple mans logic is: more attacking players = more goals scored

they obviously did not learn that you have to regain possession first, before being able to attack again.

with two players either not known for their willingness (elia) or ability (krasic) to defend our midfield would surely be exploited much easier.

lack of understanding the system would even leave them isolated not getting many balls and the CM with a more difficult task not only while regaining the ball but also when in possession...

I'm just interested to see why he made the wrong choices. As we won the game, he is a professional coach and no one here is. If we are talking about those individuals being better than the individuals who played then sure, but for them to be the wrong choices means more than that in terms of the team.

the point is winning and not getting injuries or bans and that's what we achieved. we don't get more league points for 10 of elias step overs or 10 balls played 10 metres past his opponent and chasing it by krasic.

not conceiding strengthens the psyche of the defenders and is surely better than an open fight with many chances on both sides

Well thats why I have a feeling that because the types of players Giacch and Pepe are thats why right now they are starting. Krasic and Elia will of course create more but defensively they suck. Maybe Conte wants to help out the defenders and is working with them more then the attacking part because he might not be comfortable enough with them being so susceptible to the counter attack if Elia and Krasic were on and he knows last year defence killed us. Who knows I might be talking out of my ass but it has a bit of sense to it. So once hes sure or confident enough that the back 4 is organized enough to handle strong counters he'll continue using pepe and Giacch or even until he feels Elia and Krasic have improved their back tracking in helping in defence. Could be working with Elia and Krasic on their positioning as well so they do not get caught up field so much but again i might be tlaking out of my ass but makes sense to me.

I don't think Conte sees Vidal, Krasic and Elia as his sub players. He knows the best about the players' forms and he knows the best about what the team needs most. I'm sure Vidal, Krasic and Elia will become our starters soon but it's nice to see that we can have them on the bench and still win our games.

Dangerous argument to make.

Delnaeri is/was a professional coach.

Does that mean no-one here should have questioned his choices?

At this stage of the season, I'm happy to give the coach the benefit of the doubt on what players are training well, both in terms of fitness and tactics.

That may change once I've seen how those players he's leaving out do in a game or two.

I like to think that Conte is wanting Elia, Krasic, Vidal and Quag to earn their place in the team. Sending a message, no1 can walk into the team.

I read lips and figured out what Conte said to Milos today

"Milos... prendi la palla vai avanti, corri, tira dritto, scarta tutti e fai quello che cazzo vuoi"
