That's the main reason for our current difficulties. Just look at how easily most goals we have conceded this season could & should have been avoided. Teams that play against us right now don't need to create opportunities, they don't need to work to score a goal. We just gift them.
Take these very basic errors out of our game & it's an entirely different thing. And this has absolutely nothing to do with whatever formation you play.
    Agreed.

But I seriously started missing 4-3-3.

Wingers. I want wingers. It's what provides better counter attacks, better cutting and more crosses. Considering our back 3 and our wingers we're far too defensive. When Pirlo is out or is heavily market we're like trees there. There's absolutely no creativity and we become too predictable.

The 3-5-2 should have been ditched at the beginning of the season. Like Barzagli said the team is way too predictable and we play so deep in our own half. Yesterday during the first half we were playing like we did aganist Celtic, we were inviting the pressure. Then Bonucci fucks up and we go chasing the game like we have been for a while. If we are to play possesion football, can we at least play some meaningful possesion football and actually maintain the ball in the final third rather then in our own box

It's finally refreshing to see a decent post for once, i'm getting sick of this "the fault lies with the 3-5-2" bullshit

Agreed that we are gifting them goals, but goals do happen and we can't expect not to concede them. And when we do, it is proving way too difficult to score goals of our own given the scarce number of good chances we create.

You may see that we have been scoring goals, but a lot of them have been gifted to us too - both by the opposition and the ref - and not through our brilliant offensive game.

Our attitude on the field has to change, last night only after the 70th minute we started to play and that's when we scored the goals.

Though I agree with Conte regarding to teams scoring against us with their only chances, they're being extreme lucky, mixed with personal mistake from our players almost every game.

    Chiellini vs Inter
    Buffon vs Chievo
    Bonucci vs Galata

I think to be a successful team in Europe u must be able to counter attack and punish the other team. We have struggled to counter attack with any meaning in recent years. I think thats an area Conte should try to improve on because when we defend we sit deep and there is definitely space to hurt the opponents on the counter.

I think This squad needs a serious shake up next season, we have to bring in more attacking players and get rid of this defensive mentality. To win the CL u have to take the initiative not wait for something to happen like we seem to do.

We were extremely efficient as a counter attacking team when we used to play 4-3-3, ( Lazion and Inter away are game that i remember in top of my head ).

Normally I'd agree, but this is happening too regularly and with too poor goals. That starts to become a mental issue.
But we're absolutely shell shocked when we concede, like it totally throws all our plans out the window.
The difference is quite big, teams back then couldn't even pass their halfline with the insane pressure we would apply.
    Dat team :touched:

    Simone Figo was a monster.

I remember the Inter game quite well, played it almost like Mourinho when he put Eto'o and Pandev out wide. Made them pull back and then Juve catapulted into attack. Giovinco would probably be effective on the break, but I don't think he could do the defensive work like Mourinho's men.

One of my favourite games that year, we played some sexy counter attacking football, and yes Pepe was big, i remember Maicon was giving us a hard time, Vucinic couldn't stop him, then Mirko switched positions with Pepe and he completely shut him down.

    Dat Marchisio goal
