"The man Conte wants to stay at 100 per cent at Juventus. But then there is the professional..."

I don't know if he stays after those words. Maybe he just wants to put pressure on Agnelli & Co to bring in some great players, or maybe he just wants to raise his salary!
Conte said:
"...Then there is Conte the professional who, out of respect for the fans, the club and himself, has to get a clear idea of the whole situation"

"The professional needs to look at himself and understand, seeing as we have come from two extraordinary years, how to keep raising that bar. I never thought about money, which I proved in the past at Bari and Atalanta. That is totally irrelevant to me."

"I don’t think there will be a disconnect between the professional and the man, or at least I hope not."
Looking at the whole interview, I think he is clearly saying that we were prepared for what we accomplished in last 2 years, but the situation has changed, the bar has raised and now out of the respect for the fans and the club, we need to prepare differently to achieve something more. he is saying this is not about his wage, but being responsible as pro.

We might well have to wave goodbye to him this summer.

Hypothetical scenario:

Conte leaves, it sucks but we do need a new coach. Bring Carrera or would you rather have someone else? If so, who and why.

So in his own words, it has nothing to do with a bigger salary..

Definitely Carrera. Should have fired Conte and replaced him with Carrera after the Bayern match in which Conte failed to make good subs.

Let's be honest with this kind of players at his disposal Conte knows as well as every Juventino that we have achieved the limit. From now on it will be repeating our selves (Being the main Scudetto contender and exiting the CL at the 1/8th or 1/4th).
The guy wants to achieve more, raising the bar will only be possible if we buy game changing players. If the club doesn't want to take that step now, he has all the rights to leave and go where they are willing to give him what he needs to deliver the best.

He won't leave till he gets a shot at the CL with Juve, but that scenario could change if we don't up the ante with a quality signing in the summer. He has no dearth of suitors, and as info stand, a mercato like the one we had last season is going to keep up exactly where we are if not slip us down further. He doesn't want to sign up for that. Fair enough. Imagine if he's getting double the proposed salary at PsG/Shitty and a project where at least initially they'll give him some of the biggest players in the world to work with, why won't he consider it? Everybody has ambition, above and beyond winning a domestic title in a league that wasn't what it once was. Conte is no exception.

That's what I don't like about Conte. He talks way too much about other teams. He's only here in his 2nd year. I never hear about other coaches talking about how they they are interested in other teams and leagues. Makes me wonder how long we'll have him here before he decides to leave. Can't fully count on him.

I agree, but the coach might well pack up his bags and go somewhere where they can offer him the players he wants.
Well then see you later, Antonio.

No coach is bigger than the club. He can't hold this club for ransom wanting us to sign players we most likely can't afford. This might be a football club, but it's also a business, and Marotta/Paratici and even Agnelli still have shareholders they need to answer to.

It's great that he's ambitious, but the reality is we are a great team on the rise - stuck in a dead end league, which has very little appeal to most top players at the moment, and financially we just cannot compete with the oil clubs and the likes of Bayern, Man U,
Barca etc.

I agree. I dont think its holding us ransom, though. Its just a difference which cant be reconciled at the moment.

He's only doing it coz he's winning. Remember how he got into coaching just braine day coach Juve? I believe that's true. But neither he nor the fans thought he'll achieve such crazy success so quickly. He's adapting to that success and rightfully so. He has ambition, and he wants the club to keep up with that. If there are economic hurdles then he knows he can't move ahead as a professional in such a commercial business. Life changes all the time, you've got to adapt. That said, I don't think he'll leave but you can tell he's thinking about it based on his ambition. I have no doubt he wants to share his success with Juve, but he knows what's required to succeed at the highest levels and he can't do it without the help of the club.
