I'm not entirely sure, but my suspicion is that we didn't try for him. These guys in charge of this club are obsessed with "Serie A experience", so they'll get a manager with that.
I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. Conte would probably consider him a good backup.

About Danilo, I saw some comparisons with Ramires and also that 6M clause. Is he any good going forward? Work rate.. I assume it's fantastic, right? If he's really like Ramires then he's indeed fap material!
yes you would - Jonathan won't cost more than 6-8 mil
Zapata - you can get him for 12 mil plus some youth players thrown in ... I am sure you can work that out with Udinese
Jucilei/Danilo won't cost more than 10-12 mil - read a rumour in the Portuguese A'bola that Danilo has 6-7 mil buy out clause, but may very well be a hoax
Even if you don't keep Melo, that means from him and Sissoko you can get a good 10-15 mil , add another 5 mil and you have Sandro (Pazienza is a decent back up for free)
Diego at this point could cost 10-12 mil, not more, or Pastore - 30 mil ... could include Giovinco, or Amauri in deal with Palermo to sweeten the offer, although I would consider convincing Giovinco to come back to Juve.
Not buying Matri would save you 18 mil - add another 5-7 mil, and you have a Benzema.
Aguero could go for 35-40 mil, Neymar - for 30-35. Considering the widely proclaimed Juve bugget of 100+ mil for next year, it comes within that amount ... also, consider the sale of Krasic and letting Aquialni go would bring in some extra (real or virtual) cash to spend on the players above.

The guy is physically imposing but also technically gifted and quick player. He drew attention a couple of years ago when he was playing as a right back for Palmeras, maybe ... don't remember exactly ... and won an award "young player of the year" or something. Since moving to Santos he has been playing in midfield, as Jonathan is the RB, in the position of Gattuso or Seedorf in Ancelloti's Milan.
A player I would like to see in Milan, btw.

Between not bying off Matri and Aquillani and selling/trading Sissoko, Krasic, Amauri, Iaquinta, Martinez and even Melo, all the above players except the really expensive ones - Pastore and Aguero//Neymar - would be more or less covered (or let's say add an additional 10-20 mil on top) ... that should be well within the budget of 100-120 mil fornext year, if it is any real, of course.
I think he is more versatile and a better midfielder than Ramirez - attack-wise, they are probably about the same, with Danilo having a better long-range shot IMO. Defense wise, Danilo is more physically imposing without giving up on speed. Add to that the fact that Danilo is still 19-20 yo and can still improve a lot, and that he can play anywhere in midifield, including central mid like Melo, and can play RB very, very well ... I would go for Danilo over Ramirez any day.
I would probably have the same reaction if I were you but if you think about it, the only "fantacalcio" about it is that there is no way in hell Marotta would do the above mercato - why miss out on an 18 mil Matri or 15 mil Aquillani when for about the same amount, you can get Benzema and Danilo/Jucilei

Are you talking about Chelsea's Ramires. I have a strange felling that you don't.
I would normally agree that changes should be kept at a minimum, however, in this Juve's case most of the players I would get rid off have been there only for a year and do not carry the mentality of a typical Juve player - notice, I am not saying sell Chiellini, or Del Piero, actually, I would consider bringing back Trezeguet and would even keep Buffon, for mentality reasons, even though I think that a 34-35 yo GK would be best let go if his salary is 5-6 mil a season.
In a word, letting the aforementioned players go, would not hurt the unity of Juve as a team because I honestly don't think they ever absorbed the Juve-mentality in the first place ... not to mention how pathetic they look together on the field - it's not like by selling them you are gonna ruin a well-oiled machine.
As for Matri, if his price was 10 mil, I would say keep him, but if he's gonna cost you 5 or so mil less than a Benzema, who btw is 4 years younger, I think it's a no-brainer.

the normal kind of proof such as marotta saying 'we have spoken with conte'...or conte saying 'i have spoken with juventus'...quotes straight from the main protagonists. Its amusing how a fair few members on here react to rumours as if they were facts. Make huge assumptions about things maybe they will never know about...for example just because we have no proof of contacting van gaal, doesn't mean we haven't contacted him. Its not in the interests of the board to publicize failures to get their main targets, especially when the job still needs filling...
