Federico Ferri- "It's done, Conte is the new Juve coach, all that remains is his signing. Beppe Marotta and Paratici met him and were impressed."

"Of course Conte did not need to convince Andrea Agnelli, who knows him well."

"Juve briefly spoke with Mancini 9 days ago, and did speak with Villas Boa, the first discussion did not go well."

"Marotta's first choice was Spalletti. Agnelli's was to keep Delneri. Both liked Villas Boas but the discussion went badly"
lol discussion went badly? :sergio:

Like I said, I have a good feeling about Conte. Oddly enough that move doesn't scare me really, like it happened with Del Neri.

On the other hand, getting Pirlo and Pazienza scare the shit out of me and lowers all of my hopes.
Why are you scared more of Pirlo, who despite his age, is a good creative playmaker, compared to Conte, who will have 10 times more important role and is no shape or form shown even a ounce of the required competence of coaching a big team?

4-4-2 and whatever Marrotta and Agnelli will tell him to play. Assuming our new model will be based on Napoli, they'll ask for a 3-5-2.

Because I don't believe in the idiotic saying that "experience" is the most important thing, when it comes to either coaches or players.

As for Pirlo, I don't think he's a good playermaker nowadays and he's surely not somebody who can solve our problems. Getting him and offering insane wages to him is idiotic IMO.

Not solve our problems, but he is litterally more quality player then Conte is a quality coach, so WHY does a unproven no name coach scare you less, then an ageing (32) playmaker who has very obvious skill despite his declining (and would defenitely be better then what we currently have, not we can get, but actually have). ESPECIALLY when the coach's task is way way more vital one.

It's pretty obvious, we've gone for a convenient option. The juvenile supporters chant his name, he'll be the perfect puppet in the hands of Marrotta and Agnelli who refuse to do anything good for this club. He won't demand anything of them, won't push them for the players this club is worthy of, settle for what they give him and just generally be grateful for just getting the shot at coaching a big club. I mean seriously, fuck that. Nobody is as incompetent as these clowns. Not even Marco Motta.

PS: Notjing will be built at the rate were going. A new project will begin every year, with dozens of players bought and sold.

Because chances are high IMO that Conte would make a good impact with good players signed, getting Pirlo doesn't help the case.

I'm sick of hearing how 'unproven' coaches are 'bad' and risky. That's BS, they are all risky to take. Boas was unproven too while Allegri did nothing before he came to Milan.

I'm the last person that would want typical Italian system here, if Conte plays it too, then I take my words back. But IMO getting him would be better than taking Mazzarri. Conte would surely be somewhere at the bottom of my 'wish' list, though. I'm just sharing my view considering our current links.

Can you imagine that discussion?

VB - Give me Fernando, Rolando and Aguero.
Marotta - You can have Pazienza, Marco Motta and Floro Flores.
VB - No thanks. I hope you'll at least pick up the tab on dinner.
Marotta - It was a loan with an option. Go force yourself to vomit.
I'm thinking more along the lines of something like this.

Marotta- OK, we have the years and salary squared away. Let's talk about players.
VB- Sure. Here is a list of who I want
Marotta- Hulk?? **snickers** Hulk??
VB- Yes. Hulk. What's the problem
Marotta- Uhm..............He's a comic book character
VB- You're kidding, right?
Marotta- Now, I don't know if I can get Hulk, but I can check on the status of Iron Man and Captain America **snickers**
VB- This has to be a joke.
Marotta- No, I'm just kidding. Oh wait hold on. I think that's the Batphone I hear ringing. Maybe Robin is free for the next few years HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..................
VB- I'm outta here
Marotta (Grabs cellphone)- "Hey Andrea. I just spoke to Villas Boas. He says that he wants Hulk. I told him that I will try for Captain America and Iron Man instead.
Agnelli-.............................................................................
Marotta- Andrea?
Agnelli- What. I'm here. I'm sending you something right now
Marotta- Ok.
Marotta- "Youtube.com Hulk Porto Wonder Goals". Oh No. Andrea, I'm so sor....................
Agnelli- (click)

Ok, I can keep responding as usual to these positive arguments that keep popping out for Conte out of nowhere, or I could ask you this very simple, would you made the above points or wanted him, if he wasnt a former Juve player? Simple yes or no answer. Would you thought he is better then Mazzari, who has considerably better acheivements in his actual coaching in Serie A, if he wasnt a former Juve player? And lastly, do you remember this guy????

If you do, then re-read your post, then imagine you saying all of that for Ciro, not Conte, how does it make you feel? :p

Can anyone give a brief of how Conte's tactical setups are (other than he plays a 4-4-2)?
I really hate it that we're even discussing this. Basing the tactics on the new coach preferences and his incompetence to play any other formation but 4-4-2 (Del Neri) is the most idiotic shit ever.
"Hey, I play 4-4-2, I played that all my life. Buy me 4 new wingers!" Well guess what dumbass, there aren't many great wingers left and the ones around are all playing for the top clubs and in order to adapt to your incompetence, we will have to buy guys like Pepe.
So what if Conte plays only 4-3-1-2? Will we then sell Krasic? Or if he plays 4-4-2 and we get a chance to sign Kaka, will we then refuse the Jesus boy because he doesn't suit the tactics and we buy Bastos instead?

No, we should simply buy the best players we can, and then the coach sets the tactics.
But who are we gonna tell this to? Nobody. That's why we'll keep discussing this silly issue and wondering what tactic (singular) our limited new coach will deploy.

Conte will be a great coach, I am sure.He is one of my favourite old Juve players. Guardiola had less coaching experience than Conte before winning a sixtuple.

And the guys who are negative about it. Ferrara didn't work but Conte is not Ferrara. Most of you would welcome him as coach if it wasn't for the still fresh memories of Ferraras failure.
