I wonder if we tried at all to sign a bigger coaching name outside serie A and serie B. If we tried with van gaal and a couple more coaches, and we failed, then what we're doing now would make some sense. But I fear that we didn't try at all. That's simply the Italian mentality. Full of themselves, still living in the times when serie A coaches were rocking the world, thinking that only someone who was raised in Italian football can coach an Italian club. They are thinking in such small frame, happy that Benitez proved them right, ignoring that Mourinho proved them dead wrong.
Even those with undoubted success in calcio are thinking in the same manner. Just hear Moggi. He asks "Who is Villas Boas?" and tells us that we shouldn't go after someone who won only something with Porto, just for in the next sentence to tell us that he'd go for Conte as Juve's new coach.

As always, I'm willing to give the new coach a chance. But Conte would be such an uninspiring choice. I fear that chances of him failing are bigger than those of him doing well.

This is the first credible rumour in a long while though, unlike Villas Boas & co.

From what I read they did try with some. Here are the names that were mentioned in the articles of Agnelli and Marotta trying to bring...

1- Mancini - I think City rejected our approach since he somehow had a decent season we can say and has won something.
2- Boas - His release clause is around 15m. We can't afford.
3- Spaletti - I think he didn't want to come back to Italy.

As for VG and Mazzarri it's a mystery.

I understand what you are saying, although Mourinho is a standout example.

I'm pretty certain we've looked at foreign coaches too, both now and in the last 3 years. The general point about a foreign coach creating an upheaval at the club is true and likely, which is why certain board members might shy away from it.

Man, this is sad. We got a coach from Serie B?

I wouldn't have ignored Lippi and went for him, atleast he won things in his life that are worth something. Or kept Delneri after all and improved the squad.

    Marotta is such a clown
