I didn't have to many chances to see this guy in action, and when I saw the Italian under 21 team he was mosty a sub and a secondary player.
In the Youtube video I see only misses and not even one goal, so I don't have too much expectations. Maybe it's better not to have expectations and be surprised eventually.

With this coach all the players perform under their ablities shown in previous seasons (Diego and Melo too) and Candreva's arrival wouldn't turn things around IMO

I can't help but think Lippi had hand in this considering his recent Italy call up. If he continues to show the potential which got him that call up, 7-8m for half his contract is not a bad deal. Tiago's potential sale to Atletico would cover that cost. If he fails, nothing lost. I would much rather go this route for a January signing than go looking for bargains and signing some1 outright.
