He was really good today. in the second half took the ball away and was in the right place to clear few times i noticed. really hope that he stars a few game in a row (caceres too) to build his confidence and get playing time along Barzagli/Chiellini.

he was completely shit the first leg against Trabzon... Happy for him that he was better the second leg.. though the dutch commentator made some serious remarks towords him: "Ogbonna isn't even allowed to stand in the shadow of Chiellini" and "the difference between Peluso and Asamoah is so big, he (peluso) isn't even allowed to tie Asamoah's shoelaces"... Apparently the dutch commentator knew what was going on :D

I think yesterday showcased both his strengths and weaknesses.

He's got fantastic physicality and good technique.
He's got subpar positioning and tackling ability.

Yesterday it was incredibly obvious how he used his athleticism to compensate for his weaknesses in the marking/tackle situation. If he improves some core skills as a defender (and there's no reason why he shouldn't) then he could be a very good player for us in the future.

even though he isn't likely to start, just like the time before man utd came to scout for marchisio only for him to come on as a late sub. their scouting team seem to be as incompetent as moyes himself

That performance was not anything to brag about. Fiorentina was really bad and they had no chances whatsoever. Infact, when they created one, it was Gomez alone in the box missing the header while Ogbonna was the one who lost him. He had some clearances but overall just a so - so match IMO and how Bonucci does most of the time. His error could've been fatal. If anything, I'd just underline how we can survive with overhyped long balls from Bonucci.

On the other hand, for his first season at Juve, he's showing much more potential than Bonucci who was a walking disaster when he came here.
