I still think it's stupid to suggest he will miss out on the WC because he isn't playing week in week out. It's not like there is an abundance of good CB's in Italy. He also offers some flexibility.

Yeah, but he was a freebie on my fantasy team and I fired him to make a spot for a defender at Sporting Lisbon. That says volumes right there. :D

Yeah, he should still be ahead of Ranocchia & Astori in the pecking order for the Azzurri, even if he's not a regular starter. At worst, on the same level as them, but I don't think he's in any particular danger of missing out.

At worst, the guy is still a level above friggin Ranocchia or Astori. Those two are bloody awful defenders and especially Ranocchia, who defensively is bigger liability than Bonucci.
