why did we pay this much for a backup we really dont even need. caceres should start over him if barza/bonucci is injured
Keep in mind that he is also a signing for the future , he has a lot of potential much more than caceres imo , he should be a starter in some years when barzaglis age will start to show

old enough for what?

He's not a defensive liability. De Ceglie is a defensive liability. Caceres is no Chiellini but he is a solid defender, maybe with some mistakes occasionally but I'd put that more down to lack of playing time.

Cacares is good defender and the one whom I would use as Barzagli's replacement while he's injured. Ogbonna on the right side looked uncomfortable. It's clearly not his best position. Ogbonna is mostly Bonucci's and to a lesser extent Chiello's sub. Cacares is neither a beast or liability.

Personally i think that ogbonna is somekind of hybrid of our main three defenders , he has the qualities of each of them , but at a lesser extent at the time . He has some of bon bons playmaking ability some of chiellos physicality and some of barzas positioning .

As for him playing on the right i think we have to wait to judge , but from the last 10 minutes with lazio it was clear that he was scared , he felt our stadium and fans to much i think . I have read that fans at Vs saying that his legs were trembling before entering the field , he pratically fell 3 times in 10 minutes .
