The best place to look for custom ROMs after rooting is XDA Devs. Make sure you do plenty of research beforehand to make sure everything works with your phone, because some ROMs work perfectly with some phones and die in the ass with others.

One of the most important things to check before choosing a ROM is whether it requires that you update your radio. It'll tell you in the thread if it does, and give you the instructions for installing it. It's a very simple process, identical to flashing the new ROM.

Graham, my phone does not have a radio, do you think it would be possible to add it with a certain ROM or is it hardware dependant?

Hmmm I'm not sure exactly how that part of it works to be honest.

Your best bet is to check if someone else with your phone has had success with the ROM you have in mind.

I'm not sure if you're referring to FM Radio or your GSM Radio. Cos it's the latter that matters.

Besides, from what I noticed while searching for ROMs for you, none of them needed anything to do with the radio.

I was talking about FM Radio, what is the GSM Radio.

GSM radio is the one that lets you make phone calls. It's responsible for sending\receiving GSM call signals. CDMA phones have a CDMA radio, I guess. So the radio update that Graham was talking about is the GSM Radio, not the FM Radio.

In fact, I don't think all phones have a buitl-in FM receiver. The hands free cable acts as an FM signal receiver in most cases, and the FM Radio software recodes the signals.

Got my HTC Desire last week and I just love it. Running Froyo 2.2 after updating it over the air. So what are the must have apps?
