Just as I got used ICS on my Desire (smooth, quite responsive & clean Sandvold's ROM) the screen got smashed to bits. Now I have a chance for a replacement. HOX, SIII or RAZr free with a 2 year contract at US$ 70 per month. Am getting this phone as a temporary replacement while waiting for the Gnex. The agreement is that I get the phone & then when the Gnex comes out I will hand over this one & get my own contract with the Gnex. I don't much of a choice right now as the owner of the contract will make the choice - am just getting a free phone until the GNex comes out.

If I was in your position, I'd go with the RAZR because I'd get to test and experience a new phone that I'd normally not buy for myself. If I know it's temporary, I'd go for something that I might not be fully impressed with. RAZR fits the profile.

Yes me too, I would also go for the RAZR. Their own software is pretty nice too, very close to Google's.

Got the HOX partly because the owner after checking out all 3 decided on it. Haven't had time to go through it but it looks like a top phone, have an urge to strip off Sense but will test for a while. Played around with the Razr but didn't like it very much. Close call between SIII & HOX. The sales guy tried to push insurance at 89kr/month (US$ 13) but I refused. Can watch 10 movies through Tele2 TV for free & antivirus protection free for a month. Time to explore. Thank you for the suggestions guys

The HOX is a great phone, a friend of mine has it but something about Sense irritates especially after experiencing real Android. Once I fix my IS I will root it and get rid of Sense.

Maybe your hands are too small :p At first it was weird to use it but after 5months i completely got used to it and now i'm not even thinking about getting sth different than RAZR.

And comparing with HOX and S3 RAZR is smaller and lighter.
    RAZR: 130.7 x 68.9 x 7.1 mm 127 g
    HOX: 134.36 x 69.9 x 8.9 mm 130 g
    S3: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm 133g

My hands are small :D Maybe it's because I prefer rounded edges, compared to the corners with the RAZR. That said, it's still a beautiful phone. Surprisingly light.

I don't like Sense at all & the weather apps are just too flashy for my taste. So far I just can't find anything that Sense adds which is better than stock plus am missing out on a number of apps that require a rooted phone. However HOX is a beautiful, fast & responsive phone. Multitasking is a breeze. The only downside is the battery. Had to charge it twice yesterday but I used the GPS for some hours, surfed, listened to music, youtube & was constantly exploring it. Hopefully when I have customised it then I would just charge it nightly.

The thing I didn't like about the Razr is that it's a big phone and it feels like one. Unlike the OneX which somehow feels compact.
I just didn't like it too. Can't put a finger to what it was.

I had the original HTC Desire & I could do everything with one hand but on the HOX am forced to use both hands so far. I don't know if it's because it feels delicate (even though build quality is great) or it's just that little extra size.

I had the same problem with my Gnex at first but now after all the work I did on it, I only need to charge it nightly.

I practised being a geek way too much today.

My USB port on the Incredible S got water damage. But this time the screen didn't get the damage, it was only the charger port. Everything was working great except for charging or connecting the phone via USB to a computer. I know for sure that the warranty is void and I did not want to pay the insurance deductible so I looked for repairing it at a service point. The cheapest I found was 80 € which I thought was too much. I found out that the USB port is available as a spare part, so I ordered one from ebay and it cost me 3€. I then bought a universal repair set that has screw drivers and other tools to dismantle basically any phone out there for 10€. I found a video on Youtube that shows step by step how one can change any part in an IS.

So I was all set for a geek evening. I dismantled the phone, changed the USB port and put it back together. Now to test if things are working, I started it and it worked. Then I connected it to a USB cable and the led showed charging, I switched the phone to data storage mode and the SD card popped up on my computer.

I am so happy, I got things working as they should. Maybe I was fast in buying a new phone but I don't care, I love my Nexus and now I have a very good phone on the side which I can use with my work SIM. But to celebrate all this, I really want to root the shit out of it now.

No, I don't. It is irritating though because I know many GNex's got JB while I am still on ICS because I have a jakjuxw and these haven't got JB yet.

Yes of course but that would wipe everything I have already and I discovered that after I did way too much to be arsed change it to a jakju.

I have unlocked all blades and all backgrounds on my Fruit Ninja, that alone is not worth the hassle.
