I personally won't buy any Samsung phones ever. But you should check out the phones reviews on gsmarena.com. One of the best places for phone reviews IMO.

If you want a front facing camera to make video calls, then go for the Desire S that should come out soon. Or else, get the DHD.

My colleague has the Galaxy S and it's really sweet. I was so close to getting one but now I can wait for the S2

The capacity doesn't matter. Make sure you get at least a Class 4 SD card. It'll greatly help IO operations on the card and thus be faster.
