The only player to have contested all of Roma’s 23 matches has been a surprise package so far in this campaign, 21-year-old midfielder Florenzi. With just one less appearance, comes the captain, Totti, who has had a heavy workload this season, playing an average of 87 minutes per game.
As many as six members of the Giallorossi squad have seen red cards throughout the current campaign: Marquinhos, De Rossi, Pjanic, Destro, Osvaldo and Tachtsidis, who also leads the way in yellow cards, with eight to his name.
The strike partnership of Lamela and Osvaldo has proven productive, with both netting 11 goals to date. However, the consistent performer of the season has been veteran skipper Totti, who has not only found the back of the net eight times, but has also turned provider of the killer final ball, chalking up eight assists.
Andreazzoli’s side currently sit ninth in the table, seven points off the European places, ten points behind their city rivals Lazio, and 21 points adrift of league leaders Juventus.
Roma have recently undergone a change in leadership. Zdenek Zeman was shown the door after a string of disappointing results since the start of the new year. This brought an end to his eight month tenure and second spell at the club.
This weekend will constitute Andreazzoli’s second match in charge. On his managerial debut last weekend, his side slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Sampdoria. The hosts will be hoping for a change in fortunes on Saturday night when Juventus visit the Stadio Olimpico.
