kind of. in the Kicker ranking of 09/10 he was the 12th best defender, everyone in front of him was either cb or rb. but he only played half a season in germany that year.
the year after that he was 78th...

Because you can't have 2 quality players in the same position WHILE others need investment. Not to mention, no club has awesome subs for each position in the field, if a player is good enough he wants regular minutes. Simple as that. People are irrational at times.
