The RB position is slightly more needy of massive, total improvement than the LW positon. Grygera is long dead, motta makes molinaro seem like maldini...and sorensen??? he is a CB, who was playing as a CB/RB due to the complete disaster of Motta and Grygera. It seems likely that Sorensen will be playing his football elsewhere next season, not sold but loaned or co=owned, and i hope he gets games, because he has some extreme potential defsenively. It would be fine by me to see him as one of our 4 CBS...bonucci, chiellini, barzagli, sorensen...but perhaps he will get more games elsewhere?? and games are what he needs to improve, as long as he is well coached, and playing at a decent level.
So in effect...assuming grygera and motta both OUT...we have not even one, let alone two RBs. Beck and Lich would be quality. absolutely brilliant work by Marotta, if he makes this happen. from a black hole in our starting Xi, the RB position would jump to having that ideal...of two decent players competing for one spot.
The LB position is less encouraging...but still..I can understand why they wish to give de ceglie a chance, as he looked OK for a month or three last season, but just OK, nothing special. Ziegler is, at worst, solid, and can happily move up and down the flank, is young enough to improve further still and can tackle.
A shame these rumours of Giovinco returning seem to have died down as abruptly as they appeared, as a bastos/giovinco LW in a 4-3-3 would be wicked.
but yes...lich and beck for RB, would be superb work by Marotta.
and lastly...we NEED some krouts in the squad, and both of these guys have krout blood...surely with a name like lichsteiner, he has nazi blood, hence why he has been playing at Lazio, Fascist FC.
