Because people keep thinking the majority of the problem is Pirlo while we've been declining further and further for 3 (to 4) years now. Even today I've read it a few times we'd be scudetto winners with coach X or Y.

The pandemic really fucked us sideways. Just when we needed a big overhaul, we're not only in a huge financial mess but other teams aren't capable themselves of paying half-decent prices for our leftovers. Good luck selling Rabiot and Ramsey this summer for more than what Locatelli will cost us, for instance.
This is not even a question LMAO. If we had Zidane, Allegri, even Conte who I despise we'd walk the title just as we did before. This team is not great, not balanced, but it is not bad bad.

No improvement from early in the season, can't see how keeping him on can be justified. The individual mistakes game after game are a sign that something is seriously wrong with the focus of this team. I know people like coaches who flap their arms about on the touchline as it seems like they are "coaching the team", really it's just shouting, the coaching is done through the week and only stupid players need telling what to do all the time. But maybe that's the problem, our players are too dumb or too green to understand it. Chiesa aside, who has played like a champion all season.

I think it's a perfect storm of negatives but perhaps the team has just won too much to keep doing it, we knew it would end at some point, but I thought it would be with a fight rather than this pathetic effort. The leaders of the team are a little too long in the tooth and readying themselves for a different future. When you take them away you are left with a disgruntled Ronaldo, the paper tiger, and a bunch of middling leaders and young players. It's not a great mix.

This is what I've been saying. This team is still good enough to at least compete for the title. But where we are in the league is entirely down to pirlo's incompetence rather than recruitment.

This is it. The guys that got us this coach and monstrosity of a squad and brought us these financial problems, should go first. Maybe beg Marotta to come back and let him develop an actual plan of what to do, instead of buying shiny toys and changing coach every year.
No, they should all go.

Pirlo being a horrific coach has nothing to do with them. Marotta or Lippi or anyone else coming back in a significant boardroom role makes no difference to the fact he is not a coach, let alone a competent one.

It definitely is bad bad. By neglecting key positions, we got ourselves a horrible squad. We don't have a single midfielder that would start for any of the top-4 clubs if everyone is fit. And midfield is the most important part of the team imo.
Furthermore we have the problem at fullback, where no one seems capable of combining good defending and attacking and we only have one striker in Morata, who's 'hit and miss' himself.
I'd like to see a stat about how many points we lost because of individual errors. I think it is insane...

We should really fire everyone partly responsible for our "strategic planning" and do it now. New guys also need time to prep the summer.

It's like I said yesterday is our team really worse than torino and benevento? Absolutely not

Pirlo needs to go or step down asap, there’s no two ways about it, showed literally nothing that suggests we’ll ever see an improvement with him at the helm, doesn’t matter who’s fault it is, he was indeed pretty much set up to fail with the unbalanced roster and his lack of experience but that’s no excuse or reason for us to double in on something that clearly didn’t work out, got to move on and think sharp.

Yes we need a massive overhaul of the squad, there are certain players that clearly got to go but first and foremost we need a proper coach to come in and bring back the organization, discipline and tactical flexibility/awareness required to actually be able to compete at this level.

Btw I don't want him to get fired now. End of season sure, but let him finish what he started.

For REAL changes to happen this club needs to go as low as possible right now. There needs to be a gut punch after gut punch. Allegri coming in now for example, qualifying for CL and winning the Coppa would just paper over the cracks again. They'd take him for granted again just as before. They'd convince themselves only Pirlo was the problem, team just needs a few changes and that's it.

This shit needs to burn deep and teach everyone a lesson before it gets better again.

But we got 1 point vs benevento and struggled to get 4 vs torino! And that's before we even talk about the other strugglers we lost points to like fiorentina
Yeah, every big team loses points against minnows. We also won against Inter. That's an equally bad arguement. Don't look at individual games, look at the displays overall. We only had one period, right after the break, where we looked better. Now it's going downhill again and it's money time.
