For a rookie coach with zero experience and immediately thrown to huge pressure environment like Juve, I think he does a decent job so far.
Also he has shown he can turn things around like Lazio game, 2nd half of Porto tonight, lost 2-0 to Barca then beat them 3-0, Inter game too.
I'll give him another season if he can make CL qualification.
This team need continuity. Changing coach will make the rebuilding progress starting from zero again and players need to adapt again.

Someone like Guardiola can't win CL after he left Barca, Klopp need few years to make Liverpool won. Zidane was good but also lucky enough to had the best Madrid squad in recent years.

Allegri is the best one available but IMO even if he's back, I doubt he would bring CL trophy.
So might as well gamble on Pirlo

I think having Ronaldo is ruining his tactics. Lazio game showed that how good we can be without him.

The guy doesn't add a single positive thing to our game anymore . Doesn't press, pass or back track.
Said this before if we want to win something in CL We should get rid of Ronaldo before anyone else. You need 10 players running their lungs out for every ball
Strange when Ronaldo had covid this lung busting genius tactics from Pirlo could only win one game out the 4 or 5 he missed against some of the worst teams possible like crotone and such but suddenly one game against lazio in which we could of been 2 or 3 nil down in the first half is enough example size to prove Ronaldo is the problem :baus:

Problems are deep routed.

But I have no doubt that if we had a competent coach who can set up a team we'd be through and closer to Inter.
And you are right

Having a rookie coach is a recipe for disaster. i always mocked milan for doing that with seedorf and pirlo...and here we are.

Agnelli would have been sacked if this team wasnt his. Thats the truth.

Such incompetence in the last 3 years

I doubt Pirlo is going anywhere till the end of the season. Allegri is too expensive. No other viable alternative available who would want to warm the bench till we get a new long term coach in the summer.

i agree with the bold. As much as I love Pirlo as a player and hoped the best as a manager, guess clear to see he's over his head at this level, presently. Guess most of the blame should fall to Agnelli and his cronies, but Pirlo took the job. Though I feel he had no choice. That said was of the belief he should be replaced.

Though after reading your italic, I feel if you want some kind of stability let's continue with Pirlo as manager. That said if he can't close the gap with Inter and show improvement/progress with the club by year's end, then maybe it might be time for him to move on? Let's see what he can do if Juve has a productive transfer summer.
:jflag:
PS What really disappointed me this season was losing or only getting a tie in WAY TOO MANY matches against interior league competition so far. Maybe my memory isn't good but never has been as bad as this season. Wasted points down the drain.

I think we should give him another season, mainly because we do not have money for a new coach.
Let him bring some players he likes and see hoe the next season will progress.
We are not winning CL anytime soon, and even Pirlo should be able to lead us to a top 4 finish in Serie A.

If he changes, adapts and learns from his mistake, and shows between now and end of season then im somewhat reluctantly willing to give a chance. I hate saying this and I feel cringe but OGS at union has done exactly that, he has found a catencacio style that works, I think it's more down to him being open about it willing to take advice from probably more knowledgeable people than him. Pirlo needs to be open minded, spot what's not working and correct it between now and end of season, otherwise he can pack his bags.

The first and foremost thing I want him to do is tighten that defence and stop putting our defenders and goalkeeper under pressure. Pirlo claims he will now have time to practice stuff he never had a chance to do in training, well let's see.

you guys can't say he did a decent job so far.

coppa is not done, and we haven't finished serie a yet. there is a very real possibility that he won't have juve make top 4 yet.

100 percent. if pirlo was playing normal formations and not getting results it's one thing.

we all see his weird ass hybrid system and it sucks balls. and he doesnt adapt. at all.

Guys. Just imagine With this much experience he has gathered since his start with us. We suddenly go back at the beginning of the season.

Do you think we would have won Porto if we play against them once again this season?

How about league? Every thing starts from beginning once again. Would we be higher on the table?

I think answering to thess questions really help us to know what to expect from mangment and their decisions.

Imagine Pirlo getting the sack only to be replaced by his assistant Igor Tudor.

Somehow, I feel that our next coach is going to be Gasperini- in the summer of course.
Italian, lots of experience, ex-Juve and low salary.
ZZ would probably be too expensive.

No we won’t. Why? Because he doesn’t learn, he is clueless and it’s March. We don’t have identity, the players look like a bunch of kids collected from the streets and told to play a football match against professional team.

I know he won’t get sacked and they’ll force me for the first time in my life to not watch Juve until he is coach and of course I agree not everything is his fault BUT he has to take a lot of the blame. Ffs we would have won against Spezia and Benevento even with Zac as a coach. Our team looked better under Ferrara ffs that should tell a lot.

Now tomorrow Agnelli or Paratici will talk about a project how it’s started, how the COVID affects the players and the team, how we play every 3 days etc etc.. just looking for more alibis like the other teams don’t do the same...

I’m fed up, I really I’m. I’ve been following them since 96/7 but it’s to much.... No one sane would shoot him self in both arms and legs like we did.

And whomever comes here we badly need a passer. Our forwards and wingers ran behind defence line thousands of times and nothing came through our mids.
Morata had a fairly awful night finishing, but the one time someone made a pass over the top Morata took it in and scored, was just slightly offside as the pass came late. He called for it, started his run, but Arthur took a half-second too long to make the pass and he was offside. Even so it was a sublime bit of footie, the long ball, Morata’s control, and his finish. Unfortunately it was the only time we tried it even though all 3 of Chiesa, Morata, Ronaldo made runs looking for such passes multiple times.

It’s not like it’s his first time. Morata is not the ST you need if you gonna aim for the CL. He is the player with most offsides and goals disallowed in one season in the history of the CL, ffs he even beat the most untalented striker who slept in offside - Inzaghi.

A good coach masks the team’s flaws and turns them into a weapon like Allegri did.

Seeing as his goals led us to 1-1 with Barca in a CL final with under 30 minutes to play. I’d hardly say this is true. His CL knockout record is phenomenal. Especially in his stints here.

He was also the only reason we topped our group and got to play Porto in the first place, with 6 goals in group stage. He isn’t Lewandowski or prime Suarez, etc, obviously, but he’s been a damn good striker for us in his time here. With a goal or assist every approximately 90 minutes now.

Prettu much,

people seem to have problems remembering that he was a crucial part of our run in the 2015 cup and was a major player in all those games.

People have such agenda talking like if he was some random dybala who goes afk in every single big CL game with the exception of 1 or 2....in like 6 years
