Should have started Morata. His finishing is poor right now, but his passing is great and we create far more when he’s on the pitch. He’s also been assisting goals lots.

We had zero ideas in attack for the 60 minutes before he came on. It was embarrassing.
It doesn't make sense Alvaro in the bench in a UCL considering his numbers in the current season

Of course it is his responsibility, he's the coach. Just like Allegri and Sarri were responsible for their teams.

But most, if not all, of those issues have been lingering around for many seasons now. That tells me it's beyond just a coach making mistakes.
I agree on that, and even if we see it that way, Pirlo is a mistake from the management.

Since we lost our MVPP midfield this team has been going slowly but surely to shit. 5 years and counting.

Exactly.

Unless morata was hurt physically and unable to play the whole game...beinching him was a huge, HUGE mistake.

Just about every game he tries to throw some surprise in the lineup and it backfires.

Play your strongest team. We aren't 10 points ahead in a league or 3-0 up in a second leg. Get your best players on the pitch, earn the lead and then rest them. Liverpool won the CL and PL doing this.

Pirlo: 'Morata felt faint' after Porto defeat

Andrea Pirlo reveals Alvaro Morata ‘felt faint’ after the 2-1 Champions League defeat to FC Porto and Juventus ‘handed the opening goal on a silver platter.’
This was arguably the worst Bianconeri performance of the season so far, showing a shameful lack of concentration when conceding a goal in the opening minute of each half.
The opener in particular was disappointing, as Rodrigo Bentancur’s awful back-pass was intercepted by Mehdi Taremi.
“When you concede a goal after one minute, a strange one at that, it’s natural the players will lose confidence, especially against a side that knows how to clam up in defence,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
“Porto got the game immediately on the track they wanted. With such a packed fixture list, it’s normal you can’t always maintain absolute focus and the right tempo, but it shouldn’t have happened in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.”
Federico Chiesa gave them some hope with a late away goal, while Cristiano Ronaldo had penalty appeals rejected in stoppages for the Zaidu challenge.
To make matters worse, Danilo was booked and will be suspended for the second leg, while Giorgio Chiellini went off injured.
“Matthijs De Ligt fortunately just had cramp. Chiellini has a calf problem and Morata wasn’t in good shape before, then was sore at the end too, so we’ll see. Morata hasn’t been at his best since returning from a bout of flu. He was only playing tonight because we needed him.
“He felt ill in the locker room afterwards, he felt faint and needed a lie down, so he is not doing well.”
Sky Sport Italia pundit Fabio Capello complained Juve were constantly gathering the ball with their backs to the goal, putting them in the wrong positions.
“We moved the ball around too slowly and weren’t intelligent enough to realise the dynamics of the game we were going into.
“The intention was to spread the play, but we didn’t do it enough in the first half, a bit more towards the end. It’s not easy against a team with 11 men behind the ball.
“We had prepared well for this game, it was not the attitude we wanted, but conceding a goal in the opening minute when we handed it to them on a silver platter made everything more difficult.”

There is just so much wrong with the team right now.

- We have no shape whatsoever with players running all over the place.
- The lack of shape is fine if we are solid at the back but the gaps are huge and players seem to be able to run freely down the middle.
- We create very few chances.
- We let in numerous chances.
- We seem to have a mentality issue where when something goes against us we don't look like turning it around and very rarely do.
- We are so careless with the ball.
- We look unmotivated.
- We don't look like a team and morale looks poor.
- We don't learn from our mistakes.

Hard to argue that these issues aren't Pirlo's responsibility.
That.... really made me lose hope.. our shape when we are without the ball You can be out of ideas going forward but defence? This is our craft we invented that sshit

I wonder if he gets the sack in the end or we are giving him another useless chance next season
it depends. If Zidane is coming or not.
But still even if Zizou isn't coming any manager would be a massive upgrade over him.
It's like when we appointed Ciro Ferrara trying to emulate Barca with Guardiola... no experience at all.
Sorry can't do at this lvl mate! He needs some years under his belt before managing Juventus.
We can't fail a league with the number of players we have.

So Morata was ill last week and missed the Inter match then played through Napoli and came on today, still feeling under the weather.

Shameful all the Tuz cretins bashing him this week while he’s putting it all out there for the club, even while sick. :disagree:

and wayy tooo many pedesterians in this team.

rabiot bentancur kulu can't string 4 passes together without giving ball away.

i'd be up for experimenting with danilo as a DM and bentancur on bench in coming games like @Dominic suggested. might give us more midfield cohesion.
that kind of dm position was for alaba but we are clearly retarded

Conceicao: “We pressed all the strong points of Juve, including Adrien Rabiot in the middle..through marega"

He summed it up that they wanted to press us high, similar to how other clubs found us out.it was easy to see of course.

What I find interesting is he seems confident enough to stick with the same strategy in the second leg. Porto are known for attacking quality so it might work out well.

"We need to be rigorous defensively and then make the most of any errors. Juve are the ones who need to chase the result, but that doesn’t mean we are going there just to defend, otherwise we will concede eventually."
“If they have Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and others back, that will give them very different characteristics, but we will study Juve carefully and be prepared.”

Man we so need cuadrado and dybala for the second leg, I hope this time Pirlo does his homework and I have faith he will do every bit of that. He turned it around against Barca and surprised Inter and Milan. There's no bigger game left than the return leg. Do or die.
