And they managed it so-so, so why not let a rookie try it too.

I wanted It to work like any other user and was blinded by the cool fucker and legendary mid Pirlo is, but god was it a terrible decision to hire someone who's never coached a team before to steady a ship like Juve.

Not that much of a surprise when I think about it now.

To go back to the original point - A cunt like Conte would get much more out of this group of mediocre mids we have. He's a better motivator than Pirlo and also drills movements into his players heads - much necessary when they don't have a brain to think for themselves, like Bentancur.
This. 100%. Club should have begged Allegri to come back and right the ship after seeing the shit show last year, and collaborated better with him in transfer market this time. But there is zero doubt in my mind Max would have got way more out of midfielders like Ramsey and Rabiot who were both quite capable pre-Juve.

Pirlo should have cut his teeth in the primavera or as an assistant to Max with the understanding that if he was successful in those positions he’d be the heir apparent to the position.

He should be on the hot seat. If we don’t go through in the second leg, we should say arrivederci to Pirlo, Tici and bums like Rabiot, Bentancur, Bernardeschi.
Specially these three, for what they earn they should be titular world class players, they are average being good with them. They must go.
When you think about how from Pogba, Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal we pass to this saving only Pjanic, the rest of all the midfielders are way way way off the needs and requirements a first global contender squad should play.

Thanks man, the day has went nice just the 2 hours of the game of today were the black spot.

When your team concede in the very first minute of each half straight after the locker room talks, you know you did a poor job. Once again, his calm and
quiet demeanor hurt the team.

Also, choosing Kulusevski over Morata was idiotic.

Morata seemed to be having problems before the game he wasn't feeling well.

Although I'm not Pirlo's biggest fan I still believe that the midfield is our real problem and the reason we are playing so bad. We have looked decent when everyone was healthy and Arthur was playing well.

I believe Allegri also suffered in his last season because of how bad our midfield was and it wasnt fixed.

There is no denying our midfield is weak compared to other European giants, but vs. Porto, that is not really the main issue. When a Pirlo team goes into a game against a motivated decent enough team, we seem to lose all the 50/50 challenges and only start to realize it's a battle too late in the game.

Poorly put together squad with a bunch of inconsistent players. Especially in the midfield.

So we're not winning the CL today or finishing 2nd in the league with 85+ points? :D

Porto did what they needed to do, so credit to them, but I saw little quality from them, and didn’t see why we should be struggling so much against them.
They had little quality on the ball, but they were very, very good off the ball, effectively pressing high up the weak points (even getting a goal out of it) and holding the middle to a point where we had no choice but to ping it to wings. Even if the long ball is successful (and it mostly was not), they press the winger and in a blink of an eye everyone else drops back, multiple times I counted all their players not further than 35m from their goal, it's nearly impossible to find space in that kind of situation. For the first hour we had the lions share of possession and none of the goalscoring chances, only when Pirlo stopped playing guys out of position and Porto tired were we able to do something.

Sacking Pirlo isn't enough. He's a symptom of our failures, but he's not alone. He's not the root cause. Agnelli should summon Bozo and Tootise to his dungeon/office, give each 50 whip lashes, and then dismiss them without pay. They don't deserve to get paid - if anything they should give back money to the club for failing to build a competitive and coherent squad.

We still might ;)

If we go out to Porto in Rof16 the season is a failure even if we win the scudetto. Just like last season. I expect better of this club in Europe.
Going out early in CL is to be expected of a rookie coach. Pirlo's chances to make it to semis or even win the thing are very, very small as last night (or the first group stage game against Barca. or the game against Inter in Jan) clearly demonstrated, Pirlo will regularly mess it up as he's a rookie. I've made my peace with CL, but we can't miss out on Scudetto while we have frigging Ronaldo in our team, that's just too embarrassing.

Unless you are a Chelsea manager named Di Matteo or Grant.

I dont like that he is crying about the penalty. Sure, he may be right, but it just doesnt fit for us to cry for a pk when we were playing like shit. Instead of crying, he should sort this team out as soon as possible before it is too late.
