I don't think anyone giving pirlo a bad grade is being realistic, as no one is probably taking into the account that he literally had 0 coaching experience prior to joining Juve.

I won't hide my desire to want him being replaced by Allegri, but considering he had, and still has, 0 experience, he is doing a fantastic job. He just bite off more than he can chew at the moment.
Im not looking at his experience, im looking at what I expect from Juve manager, no matter if its Pirlo, Allegri or Klopp - i rate how his team plays. Dont understand why we should rate him higher because he has no experience - he took the job, knew what was expected from him, people who hired him knew this also. Maybe he will improve the team and maybe he wont, but right now he is a failure as a Juve manager.

Neither 4/10, nor 5/10 is that bad, the way most Italian papers grade footballers, 6/10 is status quo, so a grade or two lower is below the standard, but not Berna-bad.

His next employer can evaluate how good of a future prospect he is, what matters here and now is how he does as a Juve coach and he will be measured against club standards not some individual rookie ones

I’m a fan of Bonucci under Allegri, for Allegri made very good use of Bonucci’s strengths and set up the defense to work as a unit and minimize his individual defensive shortcomings. Bonucci was a big part of our Allegri-era success, we utilized his fantastic ball-playing and long-ball skills to break the press and relieve pressure on our, start counters, etc... and it worked well for us. He also worked well as part of a well-oiled, functioning defensive unit (plus entire team really) where the pieces worked together to make the sum add up to more than the individual parts perhaps.

But with Pirlo, it seems he’s instructed our defense to exclusively play the ball out from the back on the ground. No long balls, no sending it over the top to our forwards. Add to that, our defense is often left to defend alone, without much support from midfield, etc, often even as individuals and while this is harder on all defenders it is especially not something Bonucci will ever thrive at. So at this point I don’t really get the point of using him, as we are playing directly to his weaknesses. If this is the case, I’d much rather get our De Ligt-Demiral pairing off the ground and running.
Bonucci had a bad season in 2018-2019 under Allegri when he came back from Milan and was one of the reason we got eliminated against ajax too.

100%.. Rookie manager is no excuse..

The expectations for Juve dont diminish because they hired a rookie coach..

also next 3 games will show us everything about this team - after that games (Milan, Sass, inter) we might actually be be aiming at EL rather than CL if things go wrong. They have to focus on this game we cant loose more than 2 points.

Oh for sure. He came back from an atrocious season at Milan, confidence shot, tail between his legs, and took a long time to recover form, even if his passing was still useful. Much of the team was awful that year, including our dearest Dybala, who is coincidentally absolutely awful again this year.

But then Bonucci’s great form was a major reason we looked pretty solid defensively and started last season undefeated for the first 14 rounds and in CL group stage last year, while De Ligt was playing volleyball and learning the ropes here. When his form collapsed so did our defensive solidity and again, Sarri was just like Pirlo in underutilizing Bonucci’s actual skill set. It’s fine to not play long balls out the back and use his unique passing ability as a weapon, but then that kind of defeats the purpose of having him as an undisputed starter. So move on from him and use a better defensive CB if this is the case.

A big test to his flexibility in the coming couple of weeks
if this season comes down to pirlo's flexibility, then we're fucked. the guy insisted on his one and only tactical setup all along, without the visible sign of having a plan b.

there are valid excuses for pirlo, like the many injuries, the busiest calendar and the shortest pre-season ever, ageing key players, lack of dependable regista and classy midfielder in general, etc. but the lack of a 2nd tactical plan surely isn't one.

That’s the area of change I am hoping to see especially in the next 3 league games starting tomorrow

Do you prefer Frabotta to start?

Also RB is a bit of an overstatement, he would be the 3rd CB on tbe right in Pirlo's usual back 3 in attack/back 4 in defense. The role Danilo has been playing.
No, but this looks like setup with 4 CBs since Danilo cant provide necessary width. Im afraid we are gonna get pinned back. While we need to win here, simple as that.

This is my concern too and I'd actually play Frabotta in this one. Then Danilo can play as RB and that should make this defense capable of handling pressure.
Demiral as RB with Danilo as LB won't handle it, we either lose the ball in a dumb way on our half, or just keep hoofing it on Dybala (lol) and Ronaldo.

Lets see how this unfolds, maybe he has few other tricks up his sleeve to offset this obvious set back. It all comes down to final result and losing here isnt acceptable in any case especially since we spilled so many points against minnows that we cant afford any more slip ups. Draw is barely acceptable.

 Decisive match for Pirlo, If we lose probably he will be fired but if we win he will be skyhigh.
I dont think he gets fired, but if lose tonight, a lot of us that supported Pirlo initially, will lose faith in his abilities as a coach and more importantly this is a match that can either galvanize our players and we start raising our level or completely demoralizes us, that will jeopardize our CL qualification.

If we lose we will be 13 points away from Milan and particularly no chance of scudetto, so we better aim at least for a draw.

Odds are stacked against us, two important players out due to Covid, while we barely looked like a proper team since the season began. Milan will be extremely motivated.
