I remember this match, more than 3 years ago already. Debut from De Ligt in the Dutch national team, he was 17 years old at that time. Wasn’t the perfect defender before that either. People get obsessed with formations as if they rigidly stand on a field in those areas. Pull Alex Sandro back to defend and it's a back 4 again with Danilo at right back and Cuadrado or other at right midfield, even a back five if required.
