In theory, Pirlo should become an excellent coach. He has a higher football IQ than any other Italian footballer I've watched in my life and he spent his entire career in Italy, where he learned the art of defense and tactics.
In practice...

I'd still take him in a heart beat. I want adventures and gambles.
It would have been interesting, though, to watch Pjanic trained by Pirlo. Wasted chance.

Despite all the reservations I have about this hiring, I wish him the best. He earned legend status with the club in four years. Not that many players get to do that with a club with so much history like Juve. If what Agresti said about clearly presenting his philosophy and ideas is true, then that will make this hire a little more understandable. Now let's just hope he's fully supported on the market and on the bench.

There were several rumors of names for post-Sarri: some impossible, some who would need to break free from their contracts, some risky. And considering that next season is about to start, Juventus had to make quick decisions." (Romeo Agresti)
Which again just like when we fired Allegri means we had no plan.

This club has lost its mind trying to take advantage of the Ronaldo window which is slowly shrinking.

20m? How much was he making?
Bring him back as the espresso guy a la Napoli's Tommaso. Let him work for his wages.
Juventus sack the Scudetto winner for the second year running, but Maurizio Sarri’s contract means this decision will cost €20m.
After Max Allegri was dismissed last year, despite becoming the first coach to secure five consecutive Serie A titles, Sarri has also been officially axed this afternoon.
While Allegri still had one year left on his contract and was therefore paid to take a Sabbatical last term, the situation is different for Sarri.
The tactician is tied down to Juve until June 2022, earning a salary worth €5.5m per season net.
If the contract is not terminated by mutual consent early, then Juve must pay €11m net in Sarri’s wages, which comes to €20.3m gross.
His whole staff was also sacked as part of the latest revolution in Turin.

"Ciro Ferrara has been sacked by Chinese second-tier side Wuhan Zall after just two games in charge." This was 3 years ago.

To summarize his club career: he coaches us, fish out of water, immediately gets fired, has 2 years hiatus, gets hired by Sampdoria in 2012, 2-3 months in, gets sacked. Waits 5 years to find anyone hiring him, to be hired by chinese division 2 team, only to be sacked 2 games in, and since then dead silence on his career. This sure has been a spectacular coaching career.
Man, lets save him and give him something to do.
