i dont know what to think about the bolded. maybe its true, but this is a CL KO game. its not a game for Pirlo to do whatever he wants...

anyway, we have to avoid passing the ball to Pirlo when pressed by them and we need other players to start our attacks. Bonucci (and Chiellini) need to be looking for Marchisio/Pogba instead. Dortmund will play their pressing when we are in possession and Pirlo will have a man on his back in most of these situations. by involving Marchisio/Pogba, Dortmund players will have to drop back too and that will also free up some space for Pirlo to receive the pass and find good solutions.

another thing is, when receiving passes from our CBs, Pirlo is often very deep and cant create much in those situations + he has a man on his back so he either loses the ball or has to pass it right away. since he is turned with his back to the opponents goal he has to receive the pass, turn around and then look for solutions which takes away too much time and the opponent defends those situations very well. on the other hand, when the ball is higher up on the pitch and is then passed back to Pirlo he has a better look as he is turned with his face towards the opponents goal and can see most of the players. he has more space that way too so he has time to launch his passes and from higher up the pitch.

my point is, Pirlo can work against pressing teams when used correctly. if he is receiving the ball 20 meters from our goal with 4 opponents players around then that wont work ofcourse. are Allegri and Pirlo willing to do such adjustments? thats again a question of the bolded part of your post and how much truth thee is about it. i think Allegri will make the right decision with Pirlo and will reduce the danger of him losing the ball often
I don't agree. The only way Pirlo can do well against high pressing teams is to have wingers so he can quickly pass it to the flanks. Wingers would exploit space pressing teams leave and he would rather quickly release the ball which is what we want. We all know his passing is still top notch but 4312 is too narrow to actually use his passing ability.

wingers is another way. but we dont use them. 4-3-1-2 works too if the players exploit correctly, example Italy - Germany 2012

Yeah but usually they don't do so even in Serie A. Here's the hoping Dortmund will open up much more compared to typical Serie A side and leave spaces for us which we could use to our advantage. If so Pogba and Vidal will be crucial. I'm not too worried about Tevez and Morata tbh.

him leaving was a blessing. we looked much more in control without him
The pundits on TV was like "What are Juve gonna do now that Pirlo is off?" Fuck you pundits. Watch some Juve games before you do your punditry.
