bull$#@!, Pirlo looked like boss in his first season here in 433, was easily our best player
:agree:

Zach is repeating the same bullshit all the time so it suddenly became true. Pirlo in 433 would have it easier more players to pass the ball to is always good, especially when they can make use of it.

Yep, no numbers about wages yet.

But one thing is certain -- bet your ass he's gonna be a starter here next season.
how much is he expected to get. i wouldnt give him more than 2-3M. if we give him 4-5M that would mean he will be a guaranteed starter and a key player which is no good when you see that he will be 37 at the end of that contract...

Over the last 2 months there were only numbers like 4 or 4.5mln/season. :boh:

Even if it's 3mln, there's no way he's gonna be benched.

i dont get why is everyone against Zach here. he didnt say anything wrong. he said with our current players the 3-5-2 is the best formation (true), getting wingers like Menez and Cerci shouldnt be the priority JUST for the sake of changing formations (also true). if we want a new formation, players like Cuadrado and Sanchez must be bought, because, otherwise, it is not worth benching Asamoah, Llorente, Bonucci playing Tevez out of position etc. (also true). so, if we get Sanchez and Cuadrado/Nani im sure he would love a new formation...

yeah, this is what i dont like. basing eveything on a 35 year Pirlo is not the way to move forward. we need other sources of creativity with Pirlo being an alternative, not a must go to guy

We play a slow tempo game and take our time in unlocking defences. While that leaves you secure defensively you risk drawing too much when the players arent clinical enough to capitalize on the few goal scoring opportunities that will be created. In serie A we always manage to score a goal or two but against better and more organized sides like Benfica its much more difficult to break down their bus and every chance that the team wastes is worth a lot.

A proper world class team should be able to adapt strategies to the opposition. Slow Tempo build up for league games against opposition that dont have top defensive organization. High tempo play for opposition who can do a good job in defence and a high tempo bus parking and counter for when we play the Barcelonas and Bayerns of the world (teams that we wont ever be able to control their midfields and dictate play against).
We need an upgrade in attack and we need a plan B. The 4-3-3 plan B seems to expose the team to counters rather easily.
