All DLP enjoyed their best season in their 30s. Look at Pirlo or Carrick as an example.
Carrick only played two years well, when he was playing alongside Hargereves, when the later one went to city or had injuries Carrick was shiit, and he is still shit, he sucks big time. One of the biggest problems Manure have is Central Midfielders.

Carrick has been one of United's best players over the last two years.
He does all the simple stuff well, it just goes unnoticed by a lot of people.

He doesnt suck you sheeple, fairly good CM, its ridicolous how overused that adjective is, mainly by lazy simpletons who cant bother to notice players unless they are one of the best at what they do.

Anyone in Manu has been a better player than Carrick in Man U squad.
Its that why he was prolly the only consistent and functional midfielder they had last season (everyone else on and off), and was listed in the shortlist for one of the better players in the league?

The thing with the midfielder anchorman role is that it isn't flashy, you have to be disciplined, able to pass, and tactically astute. You don't necessarily have to be a top class, technically gifted player to do it to a very high level. So on one hand you have some fans rubbishing these players as limited, and then quite often you get overrating in response to that.

Carrick for years was a listless crab of a footballer, he does nothing special and still doesn't to this day, but what is different now is that he has a clear role and a position of responsibility - he is the leader of that midfield. He's also more mature and tactically astute.

Same reason why people keep rating Sergio Busquets I guess?

As much as i love Pirlo, i can see why Milan and Allegri let him go at the time.
He hadn't been as consistent in his last two seasons, and he was injured for portions during the 2010-2011 season, but we still went on to clinch the scudetto.
It looked like his best days were behind him.
He wanted a new 3 year deal, but apparently Milan only offer 1 year deals now, to players over 30.

Pirlo himself said he needed a new challenge, but unfortunately from a Milan stand point, he has gone on to significantly improve one of our main rivals.

Still forever greatful for his 9 years at the club, and he will always be a Milan legend!
Fuck Milan man and I hope Satan will kill Kaka.

I never really know whether to join in with the praising or the bashing :D
Bashing if you are talking about his character traits/antics on the pitch, praise if you objectively process his beyond fantastic job he does in his role on the pitch. Very systemic player, as in the task he does in top quality is just suited to that way of playing only (or variations of it etc), but still does what he does very consistently, intelligently and with graceful technique.

Carrick is a joke compared to him for sure.
