Getting deserved recognition now. Finally. Cant believe they didn't see it in WC but now finally everyone can step up and recognize this brilliant mind and player. I hope he becomes a coach in Juve when he has hung up his boots. His tactical knowledge is already superior to everyone else. Would, if he was motivated, likely become Wc coach. Until then I'm able to fap at least once a week by watching him play. Life is great. Just wish my future kids could have seen him.
Absolutely. Neither of them has shown anything so far in the respective NT this year. Pirlo has carried Juve and Italy. Juve from rock bottom to WC and Italy to finals with, honestly, a rather average national team in comparison to older generations of it. Messi and Ronaldo are crazily good players that are modern legends but so is Pirlo and this year has truly been his.
The difference between this team and the ones before is that, like the 2006 team, they have cohesion, they have discipline and there is unity. There is a plan and also they have certain individuals to make that plan work. There maybe are a few big names... but the team as a whole is a very good one.
How many times in the past the Italy team, full of baggios and maldinis and del piero´s went to out and ridicule the nation, (in ex, WC 2002).
yea this italy team is not better than the 2006 but tbh they are better than too many teams in the world right now. and they about to prove that against Spain. italy have the best goal keeper and best 2 CB's and the best midfielder and some top quality and world class players like Marchisio De Rossi Cassano and Mario!! italy's defense yesterday was Juve's even Balza is an ex-juve player. yes italy not better than 2006's but they are that good and have some quality.

I agree although I believe anno 2006 had a very strong "team" too. But I sense that Pirlo is vital for the composure as a link between defence and offence, perhaps more than ever. Buffon steers the defence and in front of the defence Pirlo captains the rest of the midfield and forwards. Telling them what to do and how to do it. Where Marchisio needs to cover/run and so forth. Anno 2006 had greater qualities while this team is still good but utterly dependent on Pirlo so far. Everyone else have so far to some degree been replaceable. But the mid trio is running this show and doing it like a boss with Pirlo as the creme de la creme
Of course, i was just comparing the teams in the sens of unity and cohesion...and that both teams had the required quality on every department..... but the 2006 team was fully stacked on talent, much more than this one... becasue that team had del piero and totti, gattuso, buffon, pirlo, de rossi, gilardino, inzaghi....and most of them in the top of their carreers. That team was VERY strong.
About being reliant on Pirlo, well yes definitely..... but i wonder if this is the result of this team lacjing the quality to play without pirlo...... OR... that this Pirlo, in comparison with the 2006 one, is some steps higher in his game to the point of being just plain better and more dependable than the 2006 Pirlo?

Yeah I got that and think you make a very valid point. Just wanted to add some thoughts. I also think you're right about Pirlo. The team is balanced perfectly to let Pirlo reach maximum potential so it's sort of a win-win situation push this team to get maximum outcome. When Prandelli coached Fiorentina I was skeptical to his match coaching and defensive tactical ability. He has in this euro proved me entirely wrong in both regards. As you are suggesting anno 2006 was not as dependent on Pirlo and he has grown since. Conte has however improved his workrate and defensive capability vastly and needs recognition too IMO.
About Prandelli,...... definitely he has done a wonderfull job, and I have been surprised by how flexible he is and how he adapts to his enemies without losing the core mechanics of the team. He has been boss so far.
I also think that Conte has influenced him in the way of being proactive and adaptative but being loyal to his gameplan at the same time. This can only be good for the future of Serie A

det ville ikke overraske mig, en god portion fodboldspillere (specielt italianere) fra den årgang ryger. Oven i købet var det Frank Arnesen, som sportsdirektør for et stort tysk hold må han have sine kilder på plads hvis han ytrer sig om sådanne ting.
