No, not because his class was in question. Just thought our reliance on him would reduce coz of his age, which was based on the fact that he would perhaps be replaced by a more dynamic player in time for this Euro. But because his game doesn't involve much speed, I've realised he is still capable of making a difference.

feels like Pirlo was made to play for Juve...

He needs players running around him, oppening up for him. Can't have that at the Retirement Home Milan. So he plays his best here.

At only 32, we have at least 3 years of this guy doing what he has done this season.

3 years? only 2 more left on his contract tho.

You can't really blame anyone under the circumstances. These things happen in football, and hindsight is always 20/20. I'm sure, faced with a similar situation we'd have perhaps done the same. In fact, Galliani offered him a one year extension which he refused for a longer contract. I don't think we'd have even offered that.

When you account for him getting older and playing more games every week, 3 years more is a bit of a stretch. The only way we can elongate his life on the pitch is getting somebody, responsible enough to take up his role on fairly regular basis. I can't see Pirlo keeping up this form if he's overused next season. Fatigue will play a big factor for him eventually.

his incompetence is glaringly obvious in this case, to not be able to utilize a player like Pirlo just says it all.

Pirlo has his two attack dogs beside him (Vidal and Marchisio) he doesnt have to do much running, so Im not that worried about his physical condition. He'd easily be able to play with us until he's 35 or 36 barring any major injuries IMO.
