So only those other areas deserve criticism but not the player that initiated the whole thing? Strange logic if you ask me.
It's strange only if you miss the point.

If Messi loses the ball deep inside of Getafe's area and Getafe are able to run past the rest of Barcelona's outfield players to score a goal, would you still blame Messi? At some point you have to say: Well the rest of the team should've covered that.

If I'm at the training ground and kicks a ball and another teammate heads it on to a third teammate who then kicks the ball so hard that it crushes one of the neighbour's windows, would I be the one to blame? Sure, I instigated the move, but at some point we have to draw the line and say that the cause/effect-chain is too far out for me to carry the blame.

But as for his dribbling and high risk moves just outside of our area, which leaves our defensive players with little or no chance to correct it, it should definitely be avoided.

For me, there is a difference (quite a big one even) between losing the ball & gifting it away for no good reason just because you think it's the right time to show a fancy move.

Don't get me wrong though. If Fiorentina did manage to score in that situation, it obviously would not have been only Pirlo's fault.

Was watching the game with a friend, and where I was saying that what Pirlo did was a bad idea when the game is this close, he even went a bit further: "Shit like that is never a good idea, regardless of the score."

Don't think your second comparison makes any sense, by the way :D

That's not true if you possess the skills Pirlo has.

Don't think your second comparison makes any sense, by the way :D
I find that strange, because there's obviously an element of cause and effect that needs to be considered when you are to put the blame on someone. At some point the cause is so "far out" that blame can't be placed on the instigator of the action in question. Whether it's someone kicking a ball that ends up breaking a window or Andrea Pirlo giving the ball away that leads to us conceding a goal, the principle is still the same: When there are too many chains of events between the cause and the effect, the initial instigator should not carry the blame. Gotta draw the line somewhere.

dudes. what's wrong with you.am i the only one who misses watching stuff like that??it was on fiorentinas corner ffs.it was magic, and sometimes when the simple things don't work, you need magic.had that thing worked out and we scored a goal or had a great chance you wouldn't be talking like that.i agree with him dribbling when he's the last player, which we have seen a LOT it seems unnecessary.i believe there's not a single game where he dribbled while in our own half.but,he offers SO MUCH, i am willing to take that risk if it's a package deal :p
anyway when it's on the other team's half. people have the right to try anything.cause playing safe is hardly the way to score a goal.

Pirlo is a Jovetic fanboy. Chased Jovetic after the final whistle to get his jersey :D I thought at this stage of his career Pirlo would be the guy who'd have people after his jersey :D

Yeah it can be a bit dangerous and i'm sure Conte will tell him to tone it down... but i like that confidence especially as it balances out the reverse in Chiellini, Buffon.
Pirlo is always like 'f*k it, we'll win anyway' where the other two look ready to slit their wrists as soon as any pressure comes on. The last two years, everything is like a massive crisis after a bad result or two. One minute it's scudetto, next 'wa wa wa we don't have champions, this isn't Juve of old'

Pirlo is Pirlo. Without such confidence he wouldn't be.

That he wants to do something fancy by their corner-line, I have no problem with. If they had countered us and scored from all the way up there, the problem is in other areas of the team, not with Pirlo.

I'm superhappy that we have a player who believes he can pull off shit like that.

But when it comes to dribbling just outside of our box, I suppose he could give that a rest.
Well said!

This is so stupid.
He has been injured a lot? Check
He'll be one our highest earners? Check
He just turned 32? Check
Do I smell another flop? Hmm....
You're so disappointed that all of your teeth fell of and now you only have one left? :D

It is what it is guys, I just don't think we have any business being all over a 32 year old declining player, especially offering him a 3 year contract. If he was that good surely Milan would have kept him because as far as I know Milan's central midfield is just as bad as ours. We've been talking about making the squad younger but our last 3 signings have been Toni, Barzagli and Pirlo, all over 30.
Because that's what they deserve. As long as we pay more than washed up players like him and Toni deserve, we will stay mediocre.
Oh wtf so it is pretty much official

:depressed
Can't believe he is already getting hate.
Well done indeed, fighting off the compition from the Arabs and Russian to sign this marvelous, young, high-potential midfielder? 3 year contact you say for a 32 year old? All you need is a 35 year old injury prone midfielder on 4 million wages.
why a three year deal for one year i would be happy with it but for three years :(
He will be motivated to try and make the Euros for Italy. After that... lol...
I'm going to be honest over here, since I dont think my point could be considered laughable. I wanted Matri when we were linked with Dzeko, he's a good bomber, an allrounder and pretty good. Quag as a replacement for Diego turned out to be great, but not anyone could've known that. So it's mainly luck and the fact that Quag was in the form of his life when he joined us, from a player who only scored a max of 14 goals in his career.

Why I bitch about this transfer? Just like I bitched about Toni transfer, I dont understand it. Marotta's objective was to lower the average age of the squad and lower the wages. If you ask me Marotta does only thing, selling Secco's shit with the likes of Diego, Melo, maybe Sissoko, Amauri, Iaq, Tiago, Almiron and buying his own shit that he rated on high wages. I dont believe it wont make any change at all, we're just running in circles.
Is it true that there is a 3 year contract for grandpa Pirlo? :sergio: :sergio: :sergio:
we should had do that and then he reject us. like i care i don't want him here and i am totally not happy with this transfer
With his age progressing its not going to get any better

Its plain logic

Haters gonna hate!

I wanna see more videos like the waltzen one, only of his feints and silky smooth ball control. I´ve always admired players who dont rely on speed but their amazing skills.. Hopefully we´ll see someone like Pirlo in the near future....
