Prandelli's a fool to call Pirlo at this point. Italy plays a diamond mid, and CP used Motta in the anchor role to good effect early in quali. Now DeRossi is also playing that role at Roma pretty well.

Pirlo, you already know exactly what he's going to give so how it will help the team develop any more to play him.
And if he's so important to the Euro team, then he'll need as much rest as possible this season.
