My only concern about Pirlo is when we play an attacking team if he can resist defensively. I guess like someone here mentioned if we play the likes of Milan and Inter then maybe a trio of Vidal-Pirlo Marchisio would be better for him and for the team.
Funny thing is though is that he was pressuring his opponent. That's essentially what made us dominate the match - the collective pressure from us when we didn't have the ball and the neat passing to keep it when we had it. Pirlo was wrestling for the ball and making tackles when he needed to. Obviously Conte has made him understand that he has to at least contest the ball and make it difficult for our opponents when he can.

Marchisio did that really well as well. I like what Conte is doing, making sure we close the opponent down but do it wisely as well, not running around like dogs. Plenty of times I would we Pirlo press and marchisio block off passing lanes, or Matri Pressing and DP covering the exit side.

To be honest, Pirlo didn't look as good as he used to in the last 2-3 years because the lack of movement of Milan's team in those seasons.

Now with Elia, Krasic, Vucinic and Matri, we will have a lot of movement which is good for Pirlo
True but i'm more talking about his mobility. People think he's a snail but it's more down to his choice. He can hustle and is starting to show.

No he's not Davids but he isn't as far behind an Alonso, defensively as people think.

I will always remember that brilliant pass to Grosso, with his head looking at the other way.

Grosso :D
I don't know if it's whether being Italian makes me biased, Grosso's reaction, the context of it being in the dying moments of a WC semi-final or whatever, but I think that's one pass (and goal) that'll be immortalized in the sport's history.

Not sure if Xavi has something similar.

Completely agree, one of the great moments in WC history. And it's got Grosso's name all over it. :sergio:
