I really want to know who keeps instructing Pirlo to play short corner kicks instead of whipping it in so our centerbacks are actually used. What's the bloody point of Chiellini, Caceres and Bonucci going forward, if they're not even going to receive the ball. The way we play corners is so confusing even our own players fail to understand what they have to do half the time.. I really like Pirlo, but he fails to track back, put pressure on players and mark them. He's too slow, if we want to move forward, we'll have to someone young who has some pace and can defend. Personally I would want to see an attacking midfielder who plays behind the attackers, but I know that's not going to happen..

I only saw one quick replay but I'm pretty sure he just stood there as his man sprinted past him and shot it into the top corner.
Supplies?

Pirlo should only play against minnows in the league. Play Marchisio instead of him in important matches and Europe if don't have money.

Who instructed him to play these corners today?
Obviously not Conte. Pirlo decides how we take them. The coach just watch from the sidelines.

Definitely not Conte.

Klin, corner instructions will definetly be done by coach. Not every one, but these things are worked on in trainings and it is all down to coach. For some reason his instruction is to go short when possible.

I was being sarcastic, Raz. It's definitely the coach's instructions that we keep insisting on short corners.

I Think i watched different game yesterday, Pirlo was best player on the field lol, alongside with tevez
Apart from his poor set plays Pirlo was fine. He was especially good when the team started to push. At the end of the day his passes can only be as good as the positions the other players make themselves available in.

Yeah, but don't you guys think that he cannot up the tempo of the game anymore. When was the last time you have seen him do that? Maybe it's Conte, maybe it's him who knows. But the fact is he is god in a slow tempo game, but what happens when we need to increase the tempo?

Pass it back to Chiellini or Caceres.

I don't really think that Pirlo's done that for a long time, I could be wrong but I usually regarded Vidal/Marchisio as our tempo setting mids. They usually pass and move forward pretty quick.
Pirlo is good in quick situations whilst his body isn't fast he is in his mind and can really make incisive passes.

Damn that's annoying. He doesn't seem to be able to up the speed of the game. As if he rolled into his comfort zone, this slow march towards the opponents goal.

I really don't know if it's up to him or Conte. I don't watch Azzurri, but is he like there too?

There is more movement upfront with the Azzurri, so it's not this much.

He still got it in any situation, to dribble out of trouble to make a great pass to do anything. But what I haven't seen from him is to up the tempo, he always prefers to play it slower as if it was his comfort zone.

Azzurri doesn't play 352, huge difference with 4132 formation

I'm not talking about how azzurri play, I'm asking how is Pirlo doing. Yeah the formation is different, but does he look the same there as here was my question.

In his defence I don't think it's possible to release Vucinic with a through ball because

A) He's slower than my great grandmother, and she's been dead for half a century or more
B) His runs are pathetic
C) His 'better' runs are offside, and he still gets beaten to the ball by those damned pace abusers Luisao and Garay
