In the long it is a clear downgrade, we are practically replacing Aquilani with Pirlo.
Pirlo has once been a greater player, far greater player, BUT Aquilani is always a decade younger and the decision to scrap u will hurt as in the long run, esp if we sell off Sissoko for peanuts in the process.
1-2 years for now the Pirlo-Pazienza duo will be worthless, while Aquilani-Sissoko will be useful, at least for depth.
And there is always the chance that Aquilani will grow better after he gets a permanent contact and fits in.
Also consider Pirlo's form, hes def not a starter material atm...
Its a clear downgrade for us, smart move from Milan!
